The Sugar Relationship: I Have a Sugar Daddy

I have found myself in a very different and very interesting relationship. I am a Sugar Baby to a Sugar Daddy.

For those who may not know, this relationship involves usually an older and very wealthy man lavishing a younger woman with money, gifts, and travels in return for a casual companionship which involves a sexual relationship.

I have been doing a lot of online dating and this is how this relationship came to be. It started off online, we met, and he explained to me exactly what he was looking for in a relationship. He told me that he's a very busy man who runs his own company and also has an office in California. He doesnt have time for a full blown relationship because he travels back and forth between states but does still want that companionship a woman can provide, but something deeper and more meaningful than an escort. So he is willing to provide me with a few thousand dollars every month to be that woman for him. He says if things go well he will increase the allowance.

Has any woman ever been in a Sugar relationship? If so, I'd love to hear your experience, opinions, or advice!

Does he have a relationship already? Is he married?

In your mind, what makes this different from prostitution? And is this something you want to do?

I see what you're asking, but wouldn't any sexual relationship in which one party enters into the relationship and/or remains party for some sort of material benefit/gain be considered prostitution, according to your tariff?

Like the couple who remain together for financial reasons? (due to being tangled up in financial commitments and/or not being able to afford to live separately).

Or the mother who doesn't leave her partner because he provides financial stability for her and her child that she cannot?

Or the impecunious man who lives with his GF rent free, wants to leave her but stays with her because he can't afford his own place if he leaves?

Or the attractive young girl who lies about being on the pill when she has sex with her boss, since she know financial security ensues if she gets pregnant? (yet wouldn't go near a man his age and with his looks if he wasn't wealthy).

Due to the economic uncertainty in the market and the rapidly changing roles in society (women gaining stronger footing and presence in the workplace etc) these situations are becoming much more common place, there are plenty of men seeking out women with money too, or at least taking greater consideration into their partner's financial situation than ever before.

There's nothing wrong with causal sex per se, so I don't see why receiving a decent financial benefit from a casual relationship should be a big an issue.

I would just remember two things,

        1) If something seems too good to be true it usually is,

        2) Nothing is really ever free

          The enticement of money.

How I remember those days when I was in my 20's but never took it up.

You need to find out more about this guy SP... If he is married, then in short you are also a mistress and having an affair.

You need to also remember how your heart is, because once you sleep with a guy, more than often, emotionally you end up falling for them as a bond is a bond, be it sexually or more.

I know of a girl who fell hard.. 10 years later, she is still on and off with this millionairre, expecting to be his 4th wife. Now she is 41, and more than likely will never have a husband or a child... Our town is small in the rich circle... And it started with gifts and dinners....

Prostitution is very much an exchange of sexual services for money. It is usually at an expressed rate.

With a companionship type of relationship that includes sex, the money isn't precisely for sex. Say he pays her rent. It is not for specific sex. Yes, probably he will come around that month and they may have sex, but then again they may not and he might not come every month if he is busy. She is essentially on retainer and has to make herself available for him when he comes around. But they will probably be doing things she would want to do anyway. Going out to dinner. Going sightseeing. Going to the movies. Etc. I would expect him to put a certain amount of spending cash in an account for her every month so she can gets things she needs and things she wants and even put some money aside for a rainy day. Maybe even health insurance. I would also expect them to talk once in a while, but maybe not as often as in a love relationship. She could possibly learn a lot about his business and how to do business if she wants to.

I thought when I began the relationship that it was very similar to prostitution, but after doing online research I do see how it is different.

He was very specific when he told me he doesn't want this to just be about sex, he was pretty clear that he wants us to become friends along the way, and if deeper feelings develop between us, he may consider a lasting relationship if he can juggle it. But for now, he just wants something casual and "confirmed".

This relationship interests me because I am not ready for a long term relationship. I just got out of one, but I do enjoy dating and casual sex. Also, I could really use the extra money to pay off some debts and get back into college.

I did ask him and he said he is divorced.

He is going to open an account and give me a debit card to use and drop a few thousand dollars into it each month. I did the math, and this more than doubles my annual salary...

And these relationships are a lot more common than you might think.

                Does he have a sister?

Just remember that like a sailor, this guy probably has a women in every port. Kind of like that saying, 'those who can, do'.

While the money isn't specifically for sex, it is for the whole package and that will include sex; by applying the 'but for' test and ascertaining whether money is the deciding factor I'd say that, 'but for' the financial/material benefit on offer to her, she probably (though this is for her and her only to answer, I can only speculate) wouldn't be entering into a casual relationship with this guy.

I'm not for one minute criticizing her for this, but I do think that it is what it is, and like you said if she plays her cards right she could find herself set up quite comfortably.
