Meetup.com is a great resource where you can easily meet people. You can single groups out by your age (dating for people in their 40's) or your interests (hiking, dancing, dining out, etc). I find that salsa/tango events and classes are easy to meet men. The men are likely to approach you, because they have to lead when dancing. Meditation groups/centers are good, if you're into that sort of thing. There's the good ol club/bar scene and online dating. Online dating and bars don't have the best rep, but there are some success stories."Dating is like slow dancing. Let the man lead, or you will fall all over your feet" -
Yeah, meetup is great in general. I believe that meeting people through friends is still one of the best. Online dating has it's cons...but it's just extra for me. I've met better quality people that want to follow through more offline than online."Dating is like slow dancing. Let the man lead, or you will fall all over your feet"Comment

I've only been in my hometown for just week, and the difference is incredible! People are so much more friendlier here. I feel a lot happier. Nobody has asked me nosy questions about my dating life. Not even my old long time friends. People just want to have fun."Dating is like slow dancing. Let the man lead, or you will fall all over your feet"Comment

Thanks, euphoric and Atskitty. I think things will turn out well here. Another young man did approach me at a professional seminar and asked for my number. Yes, he told me he was single. I'm not idealizing or assuming anything, but it goes to show how easy that instantly happened. Men and women are equally warm, mannerly and engaging.
