    Im not entirely sure about the self esteem issue - some women will cheat to make themselves feel better / sexier / wanted... but this issue is generally brought about by the man that they are with. Personally, i would suggest that the main reason women cheat (even though theyre getting the love, care and commitment at home)...is because theyre not receiving the lust, passion, wildness side of a relationship... i cant imagine a woman wanting to cheat with the intention of becoming emotionally attached to the other man.

    Also, as a woman i think you have a significant 'make or break point' where your morals decide which way youre going to swing. If you choose to cheat and get away with it, im a great believer that you'll continue to cheat. Not sure if this rings true with men?
