  • Bf & Flowers

MY b/f doesnt wanna get me flowers ever. I personally would like to get some flowers, but I guess it's not that big a deal...Or is it???

  • It Is A Huge Deal

My boyfriend NEVER gives me flowers and I think its starting to put a damper on our relationship! If he were to surprise me with flowers, one day, I don't know what I would do!!! I think I would cry from joy! LOL! I love him no matter what, but he does need to TRY to be more romantic!

      • Yes, you should get flowers!

It is my personal opinion that a lot of relationship start to go down the drain because people forget to show appreciation. For some reason, it seems to be hard for men to be romantic... either because it is not manly, they don't know how, or because they just don't realize it's importance. A lot of men don't realize that it's usually not how much money they spend, but what they do to show you they love you. A single rose... a handwritten note saying "I love you!"... taking the time to say "you look beautiful" when you look your worst. Simple things like that are what women need to feel loved and appreciated.

In my experience, you truly have to learn to communicate with the man you love to let him know what makes you feel good about yourself and your relationship because most men are clueless. Men are also not good at picking up subtle hints or reverse phychology. Most men will learn and realize how easy it is to keep their women happy if you show/tell them how. On the other hand, some men are just too stubborn and selfish. The thing is, I believe that women deserve these things.

So if you want these things to happen then I suggest gently bringing it up at a time when you are alone together, when you are both at ease and in a non stressful situation. You want him to see that this would be a good thing that would make you happy so you don't want to make the discussion confrontational. Once you get them to do it... give LOTS of praise and make it abundantly clear how much you appreciate it and that you would love to experience that more often. You may have to remind them again. For some reason, men are notorious for slacking and forgetting about these kinds of things, but it does get better!

Also, if it's bringing you down and you don't feel appreciated, then it's time for a change. He needs to know how you feel. If you keep things bottled up, it will make things worse for both of you and he will never understand why you are unhappy. Just my personal opinion.

        • Receiving Flowers

Although I must say--flowers are absolutely GREAT!! Flowers are sooo awesome to receive, but I really don't think a bouquet of flowers are worth losing everything you have worked for with your significant other. If my bf wouldnt give me a bouquet of roses, i really dont think that it would be because he doesnt love me. I think that it is all in the individual. There are different ways, for different guys to show love and affection. I've been with guys that both give flowres, and also that didnt give me flowers. To be honest--the one that didn't give me flowers, is the one that actually truly loved me more. The only difference was that he showed it in different ways. Don't get me wrong--I absolutely love to receive flowers, probably beecause i love flowers so much, lol. But don't let a bouquet of roses determine how much your b/f loves you--there's probably a good reason why you've grown and loved your b/f over time--and i'm sure if you were to look deep enough you probably would find things that he does that shows even more love and affection than handing you some floewrs!!!

          • Personally, I feel that a letter showing your appreciation is usually more effective than flowers. There are some who have difficulties expressing how they feel verbally, so a letter to the significant other does a great job in letting the person know what is sometimes hard to express through words

            • Well, a letter is sweet.. but sometimes just being surprised by some flowers is even better!!!! my bf one day surprised me (with my fave) white roses.. after telling me he was out by his cousins for a couple days. it was adorable!

              • I agree with everyone who says that men should be romatic, because my man brings me flowers on special days and other days he brings me flowers just the heck of it. And it make me feel special, and it makes me feel our love is strong, but its not about the flowers, other times he brings me things like a candy bar or something stupid. It feel good to have someone like that.

                  • Hmm..

It's true that he does not necessarily need to give you flowers, but I still feel that there should be other little things of appreication that a man should do for his woman. Personally, I think men that don't do these things are taking away some really great moments from the relationship. Not saying he doesn't love you, but doing things like giving flowers says I love you, I appreciate you, and so much that I just wanted to make you smile. It doesn't need to be an expensive 12 dozen roses. My best friend prefers just ONE wildflower from her husband. I personally like oriental lillies. But even if he just left me a little note somewhere saying "I will miss you today" or "I love you" then I would feel good. So I think it really is the little things that count. And any woman that is not getting at least the "little things", then she is missing out. Of course, I think women need to do little things for their men as well. It really helps the relationship.

                    • My Dh knows that I don't want flowers b/c the will die..now if he wants to give me flowers he gives me ones I can plant in the yard! They last longer that way! But I am happy with the little things he does like covers me back up when he wakes up, starts the cars in the morning when it is cold out and just being his self!

That's a great idea!!! I love that he can bring you flowers that will add to the beauty of your home!!! Although we have been talking about flowers from our husbands, boyfrinds, fiancees, etc, this is a great idea for MOTHERS DAY! I might buy my mother-in-law-to-be a nice little flower pot that she can display for the rest of the season! Perrenials can be added to the yard and will come up year after year! Sorry for the little peice of garden info! LOL!

                          • do sweet things for him and he'll return the favor...

I've gotten flowers from my boyfriend twice... valentines day and then once just as a surprise it was very sweet. he also sends me sweet little cards in the mail just to let me know that he loves me...... i love all these little things he does and i would feel totally neglected if he didn't do them for me. but in turn i do little things for him to... i mail him little cards and hide little notes for him to find at his place after i leave. so it goes both ways... why should he be giving you flowers for no reason if you don't do any special little things for him? just a thought....

                            • Ur right DDM!

Instead of being focused on things that we receive that make us happy, we should also think about what we do for others! Text mesages are cute every once in a while. Do you ever get the feeling that when you do something cute for someone for a long time they tend to not enjoy it or appreciate it as much???!!!!
