The way you have explained it and the way I understand it ... this guy plays an emotional head game with you. He doesn't get his way so he treatens to break up with you.

That must be draining and an emotional roller coaster. This guy does sound like he only takes from you and who you are as a person. I would listen to your family. If they see a big difference in you they are only telling you the truth.
