    silly friend question

A friend of mine posed me a question so I'm posing it here, for opinions.

That friend was in discussion with another friend and they confirmed catching up that evening for a beer. However, they never heard at all from the friend that evening until a couple of days later, whereby that friend said, they had gone to eat supper with another friend..

    What's your thoughts?

if this is a regular occurance - then they're kind of a crappy friend..

if this is an unusual occurrance - then I'd chalk it up to your friend just spacing out on the plans. crappy, but forgivable...

I agree with KMonte. What was their excuse? Totally rude, but if it was an accidental space out thing, forgivable.

well, when they said they went with someone else instead, did they even apologize for blowing you off?

              no, but maybe they should!

They spoke in the morning about getting together later in the day.

it's not a regular occurrence because they dont see each other a lot. but there are lots of times where they'd send a text and never get a reply or an acknowledgment. but maybe it is sort of a pattern, but they've tried to be positive and just think that the person just doesnt see stuff like that.

              it would be frustrating though.

              idk....

no. i've brought it up several times and even said that i didnt want an apology, but for them to say they could see how i might feel slighted and hurt by that.

Some people just do NOT have their "friend etiquette" in order. And imo, people who can't pull through for these little things won't be able to do so for big things either, when you might really need them.

My best friend has canceled on me once or twice, but always with a lot of forewarning and plenty of apologies... which is how it should be! Sounds like this person isn't worth yer time darlin'.

Seems to me like that person is not a true friend and anyone who treats a person like that doesn't deserve such a good friend.

It may sound mean...But trying to make new plans with that person would simply be a waste of time IMO.
