I hadn't seen this thread. What a disappointment! Sounds like he is a little touchy. Just tell him, "hey I actually had your cake in the oven when you called, I'm disapointed"
Why does his ex's friend have anything to do with his B-day? Why would his ex have anything to do with it? He should just have his daughter and you and have a little party.
People sure do make things difficult, don't they?Comment

I know! Apparently his ex dropped the kid off the day after and he said he was disappointed that she didn't bring her by on his birthday to wish him a good birthday or give him a card or anything. And her response (in front of their 5 year old) was "Effing WAH!"
So that's the kind of person we're dealing with here.
We had a good, honest talk about everything and things are better. So that's good. I got a call from my friend and she needed another favor from me today! Jeesh. If I said yes to all the stuff she asks me to do, it would seriously be a part time job!Comment

Yeah, I tend to do that. But it doesn't work and it's only negative, so something I need to really work on.So sorry to hear things didn't turn out well. I think CW right, maybe just needs some time to cool. If truly he msunderstood your intentions, I'd certainly give it another try. If you did like I do sometimes (throw a tantrum and then regret it)....then well that's a different story.
