    Open relationships

Whats your take on an open relationship?
Could you, would you or just no way?
Is it ok for someone else and just not you, or not for anyone, in your opinion?

IMO, a persons relationship is their own business. I don't really care how others handle their relationships. To each their own, whatever makes a person happy, more power to them.

Is it for me? Nope, no way, no how... I'm a jealous person and there is just no way it would work out.

I think it would work for me, but most definitely would not for my spouse.

Some people are into that, and to each there own,by all means. For me...Um,that's is an absolute no.Like Lana,I am a jealous person, and I could not stand to know that my SO is with another woman. Not to mention that if I love someone...Why would I want to be with another man? I don't really quite get the subject, but some couples think it as an expirimental thing.

IMO,its basically having a friend with benefits relationship except with permission, and that is most certainly not something I want to ever be a part of.If I can't keep my guy happy, than that's my fault, but fortunately I plan to love him with all my heart and keep him as happy as he deserves.I am faithful, and again, jealous,So I prefer a closed, yet open MINDED relationship.

I don't condone it but I won't condemn those that do it if that makes any sense. In my opinon something like that shouldn't even be called a serious relationship, it's just social as far as i'm concerned.

The way I look at it is that you cannot give yourself, and I mean actually give yourself to more than one person at a time. You can give some of yourself to multiple people, and if that's your cup of tea then be safe and enjoy, but I could never do something like that.

As others have said, it's definitely not for me, but to each their own.

However, if I knew of someone in an open relationship, I think I couldn't help but automatically assume they weren't the type to be serious about anyone.

I could only see being in an open relationship with someone I wasn't in love with. And if I wasn't in love with them - I wouldn't want to be in a relationship with them anyway... So, no. I can't see it working for me.

While humans cheat and some desire variety (bleah) we are naturally "pair animals" and so feelings of jealousy would be be a problem for a lot of people.

If someone finds happiness in an open relationship that good for them but for me.. I love fully, passionatly and faithfully.. I couldn't do so to more than one man and wouldn't feel loved if he could so easily have it with others

A friend of mine said the exact opposite! That we're "not meant to be monogamous," and that has haunted me a little bit ever since. So which statement is true?

I watched a special on discovery channel , the show taboo... just last week where the doctor giving her take on the problems of polyamorous relationships was that humans are pair animals. Though they do not stay in the same pair always... they do tend to be happier in 2's.

No such thing as an open relationship that will last. It is a temporary arrangement. Jealousies will eventually creep in. If you don't respect the one you are with, and you don't feel satisfied, move on. You haven't found the right person.
