Nervous about seeing him after a year apart!

I've only posted on here a couple times, so just a quick background... I met my friend in Mexico a year ago when I was living there. We hit it off immediately, but didn't have much time together (only 2 months). We have talked a lot over chat, email and occasionally phone for this whole year. And now in 2 weeks I am going back to see him for a week.

At first I was feeling awkward about this... I kept thinking I was traveling 3000 miles for a booty call. But now I'm feeling better about it, we tell eachother we love eachother and he plans on coming to visit me this fall. We're still not "boyfriend and girlfriend", but I think it's because we both realize it's logistically silly to do so.

I'm nervous about a lot of things. What happens if I see him and don't actually have any feelings for him?(or vice versa) What happens if we get in a fight? What happens if I do something seriously embarrassing? What do I do about doing embarrassing hygenine routines (shaving etc)? What are some simple things I can do to make the sex not routine and boring? I guess I just want a little advice about how to handle a first overnight trip with someone who I haven't seen in sooo long. I just this week to be perfect!

A few years back I met a really, REALLY HOTTTTT Irish guy while I was studying abroad there.

A year later we had a romantic meet-up in Austria. And I was feeling the same things you are now!!

Just relax. He's probably nervous about it too. I notice that you're focusing on only the negative aspects. Why is that?

I think it's best to go into it with NO expectations. Whatever happens, good or bad, happens.

Just take a deep breath and go with the flow.

Well that's the easy part, just lock the bathroom door!

      Haha good point!

And as far as focusing on negative aspects, I don't feel like I am. Those are just my worries. More than anything I can't wait to see him, and talk to him, and hold him, and kiss him and have that "hot reunion" you spoke about Those things far far far outweigh any negative thoughts I have, otherwise I wouldn't be going!

You're right, go with no expectations and what happens happens. Thanks for the advice!

I'm not sure why you think shaving is so embarrassing. I assume you shave one or more of three areas: armpits, privates and legs. I would think it would be a turn on for a guy to help and a bonding experience. I'm not saying it wouldn't get old, but when you are reconnecting, it may be something fun to do together.

You can be boyfriend and girlfriend even if the distance is great and the time is short. People in the military deal with it all the time.

You say you love him and he says he loves you. I wonder if at least one of you will cry when you see the other at the airport.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.
        ...
Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

If you're only going for a week, get a wax before and you won't have to worry about shaving at all.

Plus I don't understand the "embarrassment" about the hygiene routines

Hmmm, i think i would definitly suggest waiting a bit before lunging in with the 'would you like to shave my privates??' shenanigans!

I agree with the above, try not to focus too much about the negatives. I know that can be easier said then done, but there are sooooo much more positives about this trip then you realise!

Like Mes said, he is probably just as nervous as you are - and he is more then likely thinking exactly the same 'what if i do something embaressing?'. Uf you dosomething embaressing - its more then likely just going to be laughed off anyway - so there is no real problem there.

As for shaving etc - there is no reason to be worrying about it. Like mes said, you would be doing it in the quiteness of the bathroom anyway. There are definitly worse things to worry about then shaving - Mine would be if i was going to be on my period more then shaving my legs!

Oh I have taken extra precautions to make sure that doesn't happen. hehe

Yeah I guess I am over reacting a bit.. I'm just so excited to go, that I think about all the things that could go wrong... But thanks guys, you've made me feel a lot more relaxed about my big trip!!!
