You really do have the right attitude. It's always nice to be able to take time for yourself and be secure within yourself so when you do find that relationship you know that your aren't one of those people that "NEEDS" a man to function. Knowing that actually benefits future relationships... in my opinion -
CW, when you say he didn't / doesn't want to get hurt anymore, do you mean that he could see upset and hurt in the future because of the military? or because of me. Im just a little confused thats all.Hun, you said you had difficulty coping with him being in the Military and that you showed that.
I would imagine that as he will be in the Military for some time, he doesn't/ didn't want to get hurt any more than he is going to now, as he fell in love.
I believe that that may be his reason....
And, that for you, there is nothing wrong with not being cut out to sit and wait, and become emotional, if you can't do it, you can't do it...

Going purely off of your comment before and his stated love for you.
A man can break of a relationship if in love, but fears that she will not wait for him, she can't cope. He figgers, I will get hurt then, I will get hurt now, but I will hurt 10 times more if it's later, so I'll go now. He can visualise that you may find someone else and tell him it's over, you've found someone who, is here ,24/7.
It's possible that, that is why he left if you let him know you weren't coping at all.
