I still think maybe the counseling might be a good idea. You say it won't work, but at the same time, don't you feel like you owe it to yourself, to your son, and to your spouse to at least make the effort? If you do it for a couple months and you do not see any improvement, then maybe you should leave. You are going to have to deal with people changing (to some extent) in any relationship you are in. Perhaps your spouse doesn't realize you are unhappy to the point of leaving. Telling him you don't get jealous anymore is WAY different than telling him that you are very unhappy, have lost respect, and are not sure if your marriage will work long term. Sometimes men can be a little slow in that regard. You need to tell him exactly what you have told us. Don't beat around the bush. Be honest. Try to remain calm, explain to him how you feel and suggest going to counseling. See what happens. I think you'll be glad that you did regardless of the outcome.
Best of luck to you!!
