Not being able to be a happy whole person without that? Not a good thing. Its about being happy with who you are, being confident in yourself, and finding someone who is also in that same category to SHARE that with. On the other hand, if you're a gloom bug (not saying YOU personally) who goes through the motions every day but feels incomplete and worthless because you don't have a man to come home to, then that means you are allowing your happiness to DEPEND on the presence of a lover.
Putting your happiness in the hands of someone else, is not only a recipe for disaster, but also ALOT of pressure on your lover.
So no, you're not wrong for wanting someone in your life. Needing someone to make you complete and happy is a different story.
I am single. I am complete, because I am where I am supposed to be, right now, this very second. Here are some things that make me truly happy:
Family, friends, my sweet doggie, working on house projects, painting, writing, listening to Pandora and discovering new artists and songs, sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine listening to nature, running, deep conversations with a good girlfriend, etc etc etc etc.
Now, when I find someone who can appreciate those things in me, and who has their own things they love and enjoy aside from me.... then WE will ENRICH (like HD said) each others lives. But we will not complete each other....because we are already whole.
