I agree with you Pretzel. 100%. But I guess I'm just saying that I can't really EXPECT him to be there to do all my projects. It would be wonderfully nice if he wanted to be there for them...but it was his weekend too, and I have to be fair in the fact that to him, giving up a big portion of his day Saturday while all these bball games are on was probably in his eyes quite a sacrifice. His mom even said "Landscaping on Saturday instead of watching basketball?? That doesn't sound like you!". Even though I compromised and put off starting on Saturday until after 2pm so he could stay home and watch the UK game. So you see, to someone who is not a manual labor type of person (which I don't KNOW that's the way he is, but I suspect), that was a big sacrifice I suppose.

And the whole having to save your entire days energy for one ball game thing, is exactly what p'ed me off. Had he not said that, I might have felt a little neglected simply from being so exhausted but would've gotten over it and not said a word. But when he said that, it just added to my frustration. And yes, those were my thoughts too. "You're 30!", though I didn't say it. And the irony, like I said, was that I'm a 5'3" 125 lbs 27 year old female, who spent 7 hours doing this work while my 6'3" 170 lbs 30 year old boyfriend had to stay home and save his energy for a bball game.

I bet your yard looks awesome. And I'll bet you really put in extra effort and part of that was fueled by your being upset with him. Lol
It does!!!! I'm very pleased with the way it turned out. Once I start something, I have a hard time quitting so I was DETERMINED to complete the project. (I guess this also plays over into my personal and dating life too haha).

I think you said a couple of things that made me go "hmmm".

First off, his mom justified him doing what he did. "Landscaping on a Saturday instead of watching basketball". Well, what's it going to be like as the relationship gets more and more involved and you have to either listen to him whine and complain about doing yard work (btw, WITH YOU) at the expense of beloved sports (basketball, football, etc). Wonder how many other things his mom justifies him not doing because sports come first?

His relationship is with you, not as a convenience when there's nothing better to do (re: basketball). He's 30 and if he doesn't understand that life has to have some compromises in order to make relationships stronger, then he needs to grow up and grow up fast or you won't be there.

Sorry for the sour tone. This sort of has gotten under my skin a little. You're too sweet a person to have to make excuses for something like this.

I think the tone from her was more of a "umm hmm, you must really like this girl to be giving up March Madness on a Saturday to landscape with her!!" type thing. He's 30, never been married, I expect she's probably pretty eager for him to find Miss Right and settle down with a family. His younger brother is married. More in a sense that she was saying that was out of character for him. But in reality, before me, he was in a year long relationship and I don't believe he had been in any sort of serious relationship with anyone before that since probably around college if even then. So I'm sure she's not used to seeing him give up time of his own to do something for someone else.

Aww *blush* thank you friend. I don't want to get caught into making excuses for someone. But I also don't want to be so hardnosed that I think everything should be the way I want it all the time. I get into that confusion area where I'm not sure where that fine line is.

Thanks for the clarification, guess I read it wrong

Personally, I don't think you're being too hard nosed either. This is your house and you should want it the way you want it. There will be a point down the road when you and whomever is lucky enough to be able to spend the rest of their life with you that this very same type of issue will come up and a compromise may have to be made, which knowing you, will be made. But until then, your house, your rules.

Maybe. Or maybe I put a positive spin on my interpretation of what she said. Who knows really. haha.

Wow he sounds really low energy. Does he keep from sex to save himself for games too?

I don't usually see him on game days. They are two days a week and happen to be on days in which we don't normally make plans. But I expect that no, he would probably not turn it down on a game day. haha.

I so wonder and envision, BD calling said Honey and asking him to come over on a Game Day, His playing game day of course, saying how she needs his manliness ( strength ) of course... on a broken Sink facet.

Oh say 2 hours before the BB Game he'll be Playing.

Explaining that last Sunday, you over did it and lifting all those blocks and digging all those Plant holes and your wrist hurts a bit and you don't want to stress it too much.. Could he come over just long enough to loosen it up for you ?

And playing on his Guilt, hopefully he does come over.. When he comes to rescue you. You are wearing a Sexy outfit, a next to nothing left for the Imagination outfit .. lol

Have your way with him and let him have his with you. * wink*

Then see if he hurts too much to Play his BB game. And of course apologize for not letting him save up his energy ..
