I would worry as well.. Any drug taken in-correctly, can and will cause problems.. Starting off with something you as a nieve person assumes is "soft" and "safe" may liken you to try something else, because you are "told" it's safe, or because they mix it , offer a cookie, anything can happen ..

I understand she is going through a "nifty" stage, or so she thinks, I'd suggest you point out the above to her, and hope that she sees clearly on that, in the event that something else is offered to her that she thinks is safe.

Google mixing it with other substances, effects etc.. There would also be countless of people that have "lead" and as a result the followers have suffered, not knowing what they were doing, even to death.

Not trying to scare you but maybe if you don't use "your" approach, that being how you are anti, rather use your protective side, of what to be wary of, you may at least control that side enough to keep her safe.

    Mushroom Dangers

There are no known adverse side-effects of using mushrooms, other than leaving you feeling fatigued and probably surrounded by a load of mad paintings and some half-eaten chocolate bars.

However, magic mushrooms and other psychedelics are powerful mental amplifiers. If you are feeling depressed, anxious, sick at the world, at the quality of modern television, at rampant consumerism, at life in general, do not take psychedelics.

Mushroom effects and your reaction to them are strongly determined by set and setting. Set is your mindset when taking the drug; setting is where you are.

The magic mushroom effect makes you enormously sensitive to your environment so you should always be in a safe, comfortable environment, preferably with a friend you trust.
    Know Your Shrooms

One of the dangers associated with taking magic mushrooms has do with the fungi themselves. If you decide to go out looking for mushrooms to take to get high, be sure you are picking the right ones. Unless you are very familiar with the "right" kind of mushrooms to achieve the effect are looking for, don't attempt to find your own. Some species of poisonous mushrooms look very similar to the psychedelic type, and you want to avoid them.
    Moldy Magic Mushrooms

Whether you have grown your own mushrooms or have acquired them elsewhere, check them carefully before you ingest them. Any shrooms that have brown or black mold on them should be discarded. Mushrooms that have gone bad can make you quite ill due to the bacteria they carry.
    Don't Use Mushrooms Alone

Tripping alone for the first time is not recommended. An experienced and trusted friend should either join you, or should abstain and act as a sober sitter or guide to just be around and to help you if you start suffering a bad trip.
    Bad Trips on Psychedelic Mushrooms

When you decide to use psychedelic mushrooms, you have no idea what kind of experience you are going to have with them. Your trip could be a feast for the eyes of bright colors and wonderful sights. You also run the risk of having a bad trip, and there is no way of knowing in advance what kind of experience you are going to have.

The fact that you have used the mushrooms in the past and had a good experience doesn't mean that you are protected from having a bad trip at any time you decide to use them. During a bad trip, you could feel extremely anxious and even have feelings of paranoia.

To lower the risk of having a bad trip, start by taking a low dose. Give yourself some time (approximately 90 minutes) to see how the shrooms are affecting you before taking some more.
    Mixing Shrooms and Other Drugs

If you are taking any other medications, it's a good idea to stay away from magic mushrooms. The combination of alcohol and shrooms is also one you want to avoid; alcohol is a depressant and you probably don't want to be tripping as well as experiencing the effects of being drunk (slurred speech, lack of coordination, etc.) if you need to ask the sober friend who is supposed to be with you for help.
    Magic Mushrooms and Flashbacks

Flashbacks days or even months afterwards are often cited as a common side-effect of hallucinogenic drugs. There's little evidence that these are a given. Anecdotal studies have shown that only about 15% of users report any phenomenon close to a 'flashback.'

Even though not all shroom users experience flashbacks, it doesn't mean that this phenomenon can't be disturbing to the individual experiencing them. Reliving the experience of hallucinating in between trips, especially without warning, is not necessarily a pleasant occurrence for the mushroom user.

    Unlike Others here.
I AM TRYING TO SCARE YOU & HER. !!

And I can only tell you what I know other that The Above Info.

My Daughter ,Now 31, was a Bit of a Wild One. She did " Shrooms", Mostly in Tea form, when she was 15-16. Or dried & smoked , Snorted, whatever it was she was doing before I decided to have My TOUGH LOVE. Another Thread is posted somewhere on that .

But one of the Girls she had " partied with and was a " Friend ", Died of Heart Failure and Renal System Shutdown, 30 days after a weekend of " Shrooms". It was not exactly the Mushroom itself, but one that used it as a Host mushroom.

The Girl was 16 1/2, hadn't partied after that weekend, They got the Shrooms from a Friend that got them for a Cow Field/ Dairy farming Area. Where they Grow abundantly in our area.

Now these "Shrooms" and most ares are grown in Dark, Moist Areas, some need mostly dark and others some Sunlight " remember Shrooms are Fungus.

The thing with my Daughters friend was, that she ended up having a Fungus that had a " guest " that was a Spore that used the Cow Pie Fungus as a Host. It took over 21 days for her to feel Ill and get to the Dr. which only the Toxicology report, showed what shut her System Down.

So .. If that does not Scare you , It sure did my Daughter & her Friends !!
I think you might re`consider the people you chose to love and worry about.

She is Intelligent ( you say ) Educated (you say ) Under Age ( you didn't say ) But Are you willing to NOT EDUCATE her and let her live a Beautiful Life with You ?
It is worth the Risk to Stand up as the Man you are and say NO TO DRUGS, No to Her If she Choses Drugs over your LOVE for her .

If your gf decides she wants to do this, there is basically nothing you can do. You have already expressed your opinion on this and it sounds like she is rejecting it. You have to decide if you want to continue with this relationship.

This is incredible as far as advice goes I just need her to read something like this! She's being ignorant to the dangers of this drug and the effects (anything that changes the way you look or perceive things) are disgusting, I don't even understand the appeal to it really! But thank you

          Send her the link.

If she loves you, she will accept and appreciate your concern and love for her, if she leaves you, then she has no intentions of ever stopping what she is doing , how that makes her feel, and the steps that go with that...

You need to know where you stand, given you aren't pushing her to stop, rather concerned..

See how she takes it... Because if this guy has control over what she does, she will get mad over this thread and in which case you are already losing her.

If he doesn't, then she will smile in the knowing you came to a Woman's Forum to ask advise out of concern, anonymously, so not breaching her trust, her name or anything damaging.

Ok, given the extra information, I should probably recant the idea that shrooms aren't that big of a deal - for her, at least. Shrooms aren't all happy fun times. Somebody with insecurities isn't going to be able to forget them or continue to "hold it in" while under the influence. Her brain will most likely force her to confront these issues. Not necessarily in the healthiest way. Probably not in a way that she would prefer.
I would say most teenagers have some issues that they at least think are serious, and on psychedelics, it's what you think that matters. For a sane, secure person in a warm and fuzzy environment, I'd call shrooms safe. But an insecure, overcompensating teenager ... my bad, maybe not a good idea.
I also didn't think of where they were getting the shrooms ... She needs to personally know the dealer and the product. If the dealer didn't make the shrooms him or herself in a careful, clean environment, she shouldn't take them. The dealer needs to know how to "dose" the shrooms (which is nearly impossible unless the dealer has been using them personally and growing the same mushrooms in that careful, clean environment for quite some time.) In short, the user needs to be personally interacting with the dealer to make sure the product is safe ... and your girlfriend, being underaged, probably doesn't need to be interacting with drug dealers. They're not always the most savory folks.
Lastly, she should DEFINITELY NOT (not not not not!!) have a guy who wants into her pants as a trip sitter. A person on a trip is highly suggestible. You don't think they'd end up doing the horizontal can-can? If that's what he wants her to do, that's probably what they'll end up doing. Friends around or not.

I wrongly assumed that your girlfriend was a secure person on the verge of adulthood wanting to explore her boundaries in a safe and educated manner. If she's not, the last thing she needs is a hallucinogen. But I still stand by the idea that psilocybin mushroom use is not remotely the same as an opiate addiction.
