I am classified in several groups, "immature, irresponsible, ****ty, unclassy" etc...
Except you are mature, responsible, sexy, and classy...Jealousy even of wishing they were still young, comes to play alot these days believe it or not, with an older generation, not all off course I think our generation and yours are so much more free to be who we want and strive and just do, with our lives

Age is such a controversal subject, but why? Don't we say "Age is just a number?" Sometimes I think age is just another "label" if that makes any sense.

The younger generation has been taught to be wary of older people due to predators in our societies. It is not that way everywhere in the world. But most places where the wariness is not prevalent, the male is usually older and the woman is younger.

I am in my 50's and I don't think a woman 8 years older is strange, but I'm sure some of those relationships are more mother/son as was the relationship of a friend years ago.

I was looking at the marriage licenses in my newspaper yesterday and I saw at least 5 where the woman was in her 40's or 50's and the man was in his early 30's. I think society is beginning to accept this more than in the past. Who cares? Love is love.

Both my brothers married older women --- but not like 20 years older. Just 7 and 10 years older. My parents tease them all the time (in a good way).

My aunt was around 5-8 years older than her ex husband. She is now with a man who is probably 10 years older than her, lol.

I would shy away from saying that age is "nothing but a number," at least as far as relationships. People of different ages are generally at different stages of their life and have different experiences. These differences lessen as we get older. For example, a 10 year old and an 18 year old are going to be worlds apart - but those same two people, twenty years later at 30 and 38, may be in the exact same places in their lives, depending on their choices! At which point, it doesn't really matter who's the man or the woman.

Goosey, I'm glad your brothers are good-natured enough to take the teasing. For a sensitive subject like this, I venture to guess most people wouldn't enjoy being teased.

I didn't say I agreed with the statement "Age is just a number"... I actually somewhat disagree with it for exactly what you stated above. There is even a big difference between 18 and 25...
