Not the way I picture it...I think if it were me, I'd pick up the "argument" right where it left off. . I don't know the nature of the argument-the details, or how exactly you parted company-but I would probably say something friendly and upbeat, and ask to continue the discussion over dinner or whatever. I would probably even say I'm not sorry for my POV, but I'm sorry we're having a rift and I'd like to talk it through. I wouldn't allow her to go away w some inclination of your fault/her fault. If it's religion, then they're thoughts and items of faith maybe...

I guess part of my posts are just trying to be sure I'm reading her right...because I could give a better piece of advice maybe if I knew her better. Sort of thinking out loud...
She seems so weak, fragile in ways and I find it difficult somehow, to picture you hanging out with someone in that phase of life. You're so tough and strong.
    This is just hard...I'm stumped...

That's a really good idea, hon. Thanks. Real briefly as to the specs, she was kind of smugly asserting that she had absolute knowledge of the non-existence of god, and when I pointed out there was no way to really know that and that the best non-believers (and I am one) can do is say "as far as I know," she got upset. From what I gather it's a very common argument - faith vs. agnosticism vs. atheism, blah-blah-blah. I actually don't care about it that much, but I'm not the sort to stand by while people take liberties with basic stuff like what we know or don't know in the big picture.

She's probably not as weak as I'm making her appear here (not thru evil intent on my part lol but just because the nature of my problems with her focuses on the negative), but I understand why you'd think that, what with my sometimes crazy seeming lifestyle. I actually do have a very protective nature tho, and once somebody is on my team (I don't mean the bi team lol but they're included too), I'll go to great lengths to care for them. shrug, it's just how I roll. Sister looks after her peeps!

Few people are as religious in their beliefs as atheists are.
