    Women competitivness in the gym

I heard it said over and over it is hard for a woman to get big muscles. I have noticed a significant increase in my GF leg muscle over the past year since she has been serious in the gym and outdoor hiking. Her quads have formed very nicely and what most would say are now big for a woman, popping out when she walks. They twitch easy up and down over her knees when she stands up. She always had naturally developed calves but even more so now. When I reflect back or see a photo of 18 months ago there is certainly a noticeable change. Having said that I am very glad she is on this fitness voyage and hopes she keeps it up. I would not think I would have said this but I think she has the perfect look now and rather they don't get bigger. If she continues with the program in a way that she can hold her body as is would be great. She on the other hand does not have much muscles in her upper half. They have increased in tone but still very slim. This I like cause they are very feminine. Glad she don 't have man arms lol. I have tried her workout routine and its a killer on the lower body lol.
I think its time she cuts back just a tad. Its like she is in competition with her also extreme fit GF. They are doing a mountain hike race this weekend. I think she wants to beat her lol. She kicks my butt in hikes. How competitive are you with your females friends? I try to stay out of interfering in her fitness goals but I did hint to her I thought she don't need to go overboard the other day. She did not get ****ed at me cause she is a sweet heart of a person. I think genetically she always had the foundation for lower body muscularity and athletic things but was never that into it in life as she is now.

I am a little competitive. As a chunky, only semi-fit person, I know I can't be the biggest/best person in the gym or even in my Gentle Yoga class, but it is really nice when I am capable of doing something that is a little harder than what others are doing - especially my thin, athletic workout buddy In fact, I would even say it's addictive!

I don't know if there's a tactful way to ask your girlfriend to cut back on Leg Day (other than what you've already tried.) It would be very nearly as awkward as that "let's get healthy together" talk, with more opportunity for pushback since she's only "being healthy."

GF works out a lot and has a great diet (very dedicated). I'm sorry but she can't lift more than me, run faster than me, or hike for longer than me. There is no competition in that regard.

I am fit just not extreme fit. A year ago I could beat her up the hill. She as a lot more time a dedication to training this way and I think largely because she has had another female working partner who was at a higher level to motivate her. I can lift more them both of them but upper body only (a lot more). They got 10 years of youth on their side to lol. I think her rapid improvement is a testament to her dedication, time and effort and a natural ability. Her daughter is very athletic too. I am finding out she was at a higher level in her teens at figure skating, gymnastics and dance then I thought. Not as high as her daughter but it shows she is humble. Those two women are pretty much on par now so the competitive thing is more evident. I will got tomorrow to just to see how they get along after my GF beats the teacher lol.

that's the same with me and my husband. I work out but I'm not a fitness freak, my husband is my physical superior he is taller than me, can lift more than me, run faster than me, has more stamina than me, hike longer than me. He is WAY stronger than me like when he slapped my butt in his prank it really hurt and left a mark but if I punch him in the chest it does nothing he barely feels anything. We play wrestle sometimes and he completely dominates me I have no hope against him, I am a weakling against him.
It's all fun and games until you mess with a Portuguese girl.
