Yeah, you're probably going overboard and he's probably right; you are being insecure.I find myself loving a man I have only been with for 5 months. How is this so? He treats me good and my kids like him. He says he likes and cares for me but I still have my doubts. He says we must trust each other but I have been in two failed relationships due to cheating. So I have trust issues. He gets angry when I ask him questions, presuming that he's cheating. He says im insecure and to stop asking him questions. Sometimes I feel like backing up but at the same time I dont want to lose him.
I think part of the issue is to address the underlying problem; your security. When someone cheats on you, it hurts. It hurts a lot. Because they've basically said that they've found you wanting and that's just not what anyone wants to hear. Especially from someone they care about so much. But when someone cheats, it's them whose failed, it isn't you. Perhaps something in your relationship has gone wrong (communication, lack of activity together--sexual or romantic), but ultimately, they failed to address this with you.
So you need to back off a bit. If he does end up cheating on you, it doesn't mean you're less of a person. It means that in some way, your relationship failed. Either because he lacked commitment or because something you're/he's doing is causing this. But even if the latter is the case, you are not less of a person (well, unless you're abusive, but I presume that isn't the case). Nor are you solely to blame if you are at fault; because he didn't leaving you, he avoided addressing the issues of a failing relationship by having an affair with someone else.Last edited by Mith; 09-05-2014, 08:32 AM.Comment

Uh Oh. Are you sure it is by him? What is your plan?I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?
