See you would be dad's princess as much as boys are mummy's boys, i am sure that he has always liked your boyfriend and knows this is the progression of the next step.

He may pose the question when do you expect to get married if he thinks you need more time, in which case, you can decide how long your want your engagement. But, if he thinks like this, then you can have a longer engagement doesn't matter, you are committed to each other, and bring it forward once he gets used to the idea more.....

Enjoy, don't stress all seems to be going along very nicely for you...
Yeah, I am sure that he will question something, that is how he's always been. But I think that he will be ok with it if I just give it time. He likes my boyfriend, I know he does. Sometimes my dad gets upset because my boyfriend doesn't always have alot to say to him, but I think it is because he didn't have a father figure growing up because he walked out on him and his mother. So he was raised by his mom and his uncle (his mom's brother). I think that might be the case. I think my dad will end up being alright though because my mom is so excited about it, heck she is already talking about going wedding dress shopping and I am not even engaged yet!

Anyway, we think that we will have a longer engagement. We talked about it the other day and thought that it would be a year maybe 2 before we get married. That way we have time to find a house so we have somewhere to stay together, and give him time to settle in to the idea.

    Thank you

Yeah, I can kinda see how that could happen. I won't forget about her, I could send her flowers or something out of the blue, just so she knows that everything is going to be ok and that she won't lose her son I am not sure if that is a concern, because she didn't voice it but it could be in the back of her mind, I don't know. She was just upset about him not telling her face to face, which i can totally understand.

      Thanks!
