One of my best friends has had over 600 one night stands. I'm worried and when I try to talk to him he gets very defensive. Should I just drop it?

Maybe the worry is actually tied into jealousy. I prefer lasting relationships to one night stands, having done both and also having stretches without any type of relationship. What do you prefer? If you prefer one night stands, I can see where you would maybe wish for as many partners as he has had. Does he have physical or emotional problems and if he does, how are they related to his one night stands? Seems excessive, but as long as he is practicing safe sex ALL THE TIME, and he is not misleading his partners just to get sex, I don't think it is an issue. However, I often find that people who have so many sexual partners are because they are players that will do anything to get sex. Does your friend do that? I think that your friend isn't truthful. I think he's exaggerated his numbers or isn't good with elementary math.
If he is truthful, he could be suffering from a behavioral abnormality.
