I think that men are equally attracted to a lover and a wife types. The former maintains their fantasy (if she just stays a lover), the latter helps him live in reality. so, it might be possible they love both.
The essence of a lover is mystery: they only see her when she is looking her best, devoted and not a burden. They dont see her on the toilet, or share her everyday challenges. Very often the relationship is based on a conflict, closer to hate than to love.
The wife type is synonymous with ordinary, secure and comfy.

I think that might hold true for an oddball male here or three but most have come to grasp the concept that women are not 1 dimensional. That a woman can love you and also love sex (we're multi-taskers like that). That the same woman that is capable of being dressed sexy and catching glances on your arm at your office party is the same woman that can also carpool kids to soccer practice, the same woman that can rub your shoulders after a hard day and tell you its all going to be okay is the same woman that can tie you to a chair and give you a show.

This idea that there is only ginger and only maryanne and guys have to choose one (or be slick and take on both) is rediculous. Most women have maryanne and ginger right there in the same body... depends if you're doing your part if you get both out of her.

I don't think thats true in general... Even a lover can be sour at times. I think it's just part of the mechanics of cheating- a person trying to fulfill their needs between two people, instead of one. A good man will get everything he needs from his woman.

Men have their insecurities and fantasies just as women do and I think that most are happy to find a woman they are attracted to who loves them as they are. They may still do a bit of fantasizing but most know that's what it is.

Now we ladies do have a tendency to sometimes see men more for their potential than what they are and that does often lead to disapointment. And starts a cycle because he can feel the disappointment and may back off and then things go into a downward spiral.

In-other-words, yes a "wife" in our parents (I'm 46) and their parents days, undertook the duty of holding a secure home, as far as cleaning, cooking, having babies... But, alot of those women, were taught the basics of sex and that it was had for the purpose of children... Not to be intimate and please each other, have fun and be also a best mate. The best mate bit came later in life, mostly without sex as well, just "friends" best friends. Would they have wanted a lover? Yes, I would say that they would have but wouldn't have dreamed of it.

Today's age you can have both as women are more open, more sexual and enjoy intimacy. If they care about their relationship, they will explore, have no in-hibitions and also be their man's best mate and visa versa.

So yes, they do need two women..
