Oh, yes. My family is from East Texas and southern Louisiana, southern baptist, and sooo country. They just can't imagine a woman being single past the ripe old age of 20. Or a woman who can't cook, now that is a montrosity. That way of thinking never appealed to me, and I have realized that what they think about my life only affects me if I let it.

20 is a bit young to get married, but i thin the real key is to get married to the right person. regardless of age.

Actually Flower Girl is fortunate that her family has allowed her to remain single.

KSA currently has no age limit for marriage, marriages are arranged and girls as young as 5 have been married. A case not too long ago went to court trying to obtain a divorce for an 8 yr old married to a man in his 40s. The judge's decision was that the girl could seek a divorce when she reached puberty. Since contact between the sexes is very limited young people have to depend on family members to find a potential spouse and marriages between cousins are very common to preserve family assets and because the families do know each other well.

Flower Girl I admire your desire to have a career and a compatible spouse of your choosing. I hope that when the time comes, you find a man who will value you and your life choices.

By then most have their educational goals out of the way and are ready to settle down and start a family.
I totally agree with this. As much as guys don't mean to their frontal cortex isn't matured yet. As much as I love my hubbie i'd like to wait and maybe settle at 23 24 with him. I'd like to start having a family as soon as possiable. I love kids . When we got engaged i was 21 so it hasn't been that long but since we're still so young. I'd like to wait. Also for the education factor. I love him to pieces and being engaged is great as it is. I mean we're living together and pretty much do everything liek a married couple does so. It doesn't matter to us.

I'm 23 and a lot of my friends are 30+ years old, and nowadays it seems that people around that age are very, very similar to people around MY age.

What I'm saying is that I used to think I should get married at a young age, but now I've realized that people are remaining "young" on the inside a LOT longer than before, and a LOT longer than I ever expected.

And I also get a tiny bit annoyed when people think of marriage as a goal per se, it sounds a bit juvenile to me, like a pre-teen's fantasy world. But I do realize that people come from all sorts of different family backgrounds, values, traditions, so to each their own.

Many people I know got married young (20-23) and now they have 10 year old children and claim they're happy and so on (the majority of them are uneducated). My fiance wants us to marry and have children (I'm 25) but I just don't want to yet, I want to have a job, have my own income, be able to be financially independent if something goes wrong, there is a lot one has to consider before marriage. I don't care if my social circle (mainly on fiance's side) pressures me about it, I'm just not ready for it yet.

Getting married doesn't necessarily equal happiness, even if you're very much in love. And how about women having to give away their last name, I don't like this one bit (fiance insists about the name change). We're not objects who change label to the one who possesses us.

                    Hi

Definatly 22 is the time in your life to enjoy everthing. Don't let anyone tell you when is the right age to get married, i honestly don't think there is a right age. Get married when you find the right Guy and get married coz you are madly in love with him, not because everyone else says your the right age.

Funny how things work it sound cliché, but you will find him when you least expect it, until then enjoy your life and take advantae of the opportunities life presents.

In the oldern days? Yep, that was norm.

Not now sweet. More like in the 30's.

                      Wait till you know.

Marriage is a piece of paper that legalities can cause so much pain if you chose wrongly.
