You owe it to yourself to get out of this miserable situation. There is nothing he could do to ever repay you for the countless years you've given him, but it's never too late to put a stop to this and build yourself a new and happier and healthier life.

It's great that you'll be becoming a fellow Texan in a few months, and I hope you'll make the move even if anything were to change with your sister. I also hope you'll keep us updated and come hang out with us more often.

The only one keeping you locked in this is YOU. You know what you want and don't want. So tomorrow, start a new life. You've been down for so long and it's time to stand up, dust yourself off, and become the person you want to be.
            YOU can do it!
            Good luck!

I can't come close to matching your experiences, as I've never been in a relationship that long, but I've had similar. A wife that sat on her butt all day never trying to find a job, keeping me tied to her because I felt sorry for her. Well, all I can say is that is no way to live. You need to be happy. Make him move out and in with a family member. Then you can feel free to sell and move some place where you can be on your own and away from the memories. IF he won't leave (which is likely) courts have persuasive methods. You don't deserve the life you lead. Happiness is there if you want it.

My mom is in a very bad situation as well. Different but bad and she is miserable. I tell her every time I talk to her to try to find something to start living for you. She "can't" ... I hate that word! I Tell "you can you just need to choose to do it"

Hi friends. I had it out with Mr. Tears and like to fell off my chair when he said that he would sign a 'quit deed'??? and put this property in my name only. He says that I deserve it fot all I've done for him and his family. He even told me that he has discussed moving in with his brother or mom before but always felt like why should he leave when he's got it 'knocked up' here. Now, don't get me wrong...there was no tears, apologies, 'I love you's' or anything of that nature, but at least I know that HE knows that he's been a miserable toord to live with the last 15 years and he OWES me bigtime. And so, Monday morning, I will set the alarm for 7a.m. Wake the foul beast from his sleep. Bathe him and dress him if I must, and haul his sorry sack down to the courthouse and get sole ownership of this place. Then, I will move him out, sell it even if I have to sell it to a real estate that will definetly give me about 50% of what it's worth(I might even pay off the old fart's car loan)and say adios amigo...I'm southbound. And once I get to Texas, I'm gonna invite all y'all to my place for BBQ!!
Thanks again. I'll keep you posted on how things are going. And thanks for the advise. Some of it made me bust out laughing and some had me near tears, but all was so divine. Like an angel whispered in my, "hey stupid, leave". What is Obama's saying?? YES WE CAN!!

That's wonderful! Lets hope that he actually does it. He's probably been expecting you to go for a long time and knows he can't handle the place on his own.
You see? Once you make your mind up, things start happening!
