Hi Ladies,

I thought this might be a fun one. Memories...Do you remember all the details? I think I do...

It was my birthday and unfortunately I had to work. My boyfriend had 2 dozen day-lilies delivered with a card that said.. I'll pick the kids up from school, meet me at my house for dinner. Happy B-Day.

When I got to his house there were no lights on. I thought ok, the kids are going to jump out at me when I open the door. As I opened the front door I noticed that there were a few candles burning in the living room, no one jumped out.

My daughter rounded the corner wearing a sombrero and had a sign that said "Welcome to the three amigos restaurant", she escorted me to the dining room where my son was waiting. He too was wearing a sombrero, and had a mustache (painted on), he seated me in my chair and served me a margarita.

I'm looking around thinking.. where's the third amigo? My bf comes up from the basement dressed just like my children, with trays of food. Mexican food is my favorite, yum, yum. About 15 minutes into dinner I hear footsteps coming up from the basement, outcome my bf's parents with a birthday cake. Everyone starts singing and my son sneaks off.

He returns with a silver platter that has 2 small boxes sitting on top. My bf stands up and grabs my daughters hand and they both go and stand next to my son. At this point my son looks confused, he couldn't remember what to do next. He looks at my bf and says "which one", my bf told him to give me the little white card first.

The card said: I have all of my heart to give, can you trust me with yours.. Will you marry me?

Then he opens the boxes, a diamond ring for me and a diamond band for my daughter. What's a girl to do? Of course, I said YES!

Well...I have on proposal story, that didn't result in a wedding...lol, but it's still funny.

We dated for 5 years. It was summer time, right after I graduated college. We loved to go out on the jon boat and fish in the afternoons.....so that day was mostly like any other. When we got to the lake he dropped the boat in the water and asked me to stand on the ramp and hold the string while he parked the truck. I was wearing flip flops and the ramp was covered in slick wet moss....so I sort of lost my footing and at the same time, lost the rope. So there went the little jon boat, down the lake....empty. He came running down there, and luckily another couple was about to unload so they took him to get the boat. I was already mortified. Then he pulled back up to the ramp so I could get in the boat...and as I went to put one leg in the boat, the other legged slipped and I felt into the water and hit my knees on rock. Lol. He of course laughed (because it was ridiculously humorous), but I was SO embarassed and I got mad, stormed out of the water and told him "TAKE ME HOME NOW!!!!" (my knees were bleeding too. ) I could tell he was a little ticked off at how I was acting over it...so pulled the boat out, and started acting like he was working on something and said "grab the pliers out of the tackle box for me real quick".... and when I opened the tackle box, there was this pretty little red box.

So there I was...wet clothes, bloody knees, so angry I was crying....... and suddenly engaged.

Not NEAR as sweet as your story JustHormonius. But how many people can say they had wet clothes and bloody knees for their engagement ?

i just recently got engaged..last sunday actually, i knew it was coming SOON but i was pretty sure it was going to be THANKSGIVING day when my entire family was together, and i was RIGHT to assume that, come to find out that was his plan. BUT i somehow mentioned that i would rather be proposed to when it was just me and him rather than a group of people, so we could really sit back and "embrace" the moment. well last sunday we had a wonderful day together, we went to breakfast and headed out to buy our christmas tree and christmas decorations, came home that evening, had to return the christmas tree 3 times before we got the right one lol. well anyway, he was putting the hooks on the ornaments and handing them to me as i was on the ladder, when i reached down the grab another, he there had the box...needless to say i was in shock and nearly fell off the ladder but in the christmas tree lights, it just sparkled!! i have the most wonderful man God could have ever made for me, i look forward to spending eternity with him <3

It was actually me that brought up marriage. He had just told me that he didn't believe in premarital sex, and I said well lets get married. It went on from there and we decided to get engaged. Then, that was the first night we slept together.

My husband and daughter both believe (still to this day) that she blessed him into our lives. They call it fate, I call it coincidence. That's a whole other story...
