Ok, need some advice. How do I get out and meet people, men? I have started the divorce paper work, moved, yea!! feels good to be on my own but how do I get dates? I have written to 2 guys on the dating site that contact me and both didnt work out. What do I do? After almost 18 years, how do I get back out there? -

One of the things you need to do is not go out
to meet men, go out to do things.
For example there's a sporting event, you go
and you meet people there.
You go to a museum, you meet people there.
You take yourself out and find out what you like.
Very often, when you are married for a while
you forget what it is you like.
You forget what kind of music, art, sports,
foods, places, in deference to his.
When you are on your own it's kind of hard
to remember if you liked the beach or the
mountains, if you liked Chinese food or
Italian, if you enjoyed a concert or a dance.
So you have to meet yourself first.

Seems we're about the same age, and I seem to know what you're going through. It must be part of the transition, feeling the need to meet someone. I tried the on-line stuff for a while, but realized it's not for me or wasn't the right time. Now I'm focusing on myself, and what I need to do for my own security and happiness.
Don't try too hard to meet someone. Get to know yourself all over again and have some fun. Everything will fall into place when and how it's supposed to.Comment

Well my divorce was final 7-28-07 day after my 46th birthday. I told him well we are not related anymore. He didnt say a word or have any emotion. I did the right thing divorcing him. I am having a first date Sunday with a guy I am talking to on the internet. I am very excited. Its been 18 years since I have been on a date, 2.5 years since I have kissed anyone, or have been kissed, no sex.. I am so nervous.Comment
