The thing is that I don't want him to know where I'm at I would prefer that he thought I was dead so that he would not have a reason to look for me.

      raped by husband

Wow. The replies to this post scared me. I think for the most part it was blowned way out of proportion. I don't think he meant it as 'rape'. He probably was just horny and she was sleepy (sleeping). Hopefully, she knows her husband well enough to know whether he had evil motives or not. You sounded like you didn't like what happened, discussed it and moved on. If he is sincere, he want do it again. If he does do it again without your permission I would worry. Strange though, when I initiated with my husband at the time and he woke up he didn't think I was "raping" him at all. He woke up and participated "sleepy" and went back to sleep. Oh well, I guess it just depends on who you do it too.

i agree with commonsense..i think he was just horny..if she said no and he continued then that's a different story..i'm sure the abuse episode when she was younger triggered the panic..the title of the post was "raped by my husband?"..there is a question mark after the sentence..she is asking us do we think it was rape..as i said earlier, if she said no and he continued then that is rape..

I'm going to ignore the other disputes over the replies and just give you my opinion.

What your husband did to you is not normal for any man to even want to do - married or not. Having intercourse with the unconscious whether consented or not consented is not of good mental health. This is considered as rape.

I understand sexual curiosity if he only did this once - but this has happened multiple times you said, after you made it clear to him that you didn't want him having sex with you when you were asleep. He does not respect you, your body or your mind, even if you are both able to talk about it and make-up afterward. It's very wrong for him to find pleasure in raping you in your sleep, even if he is sorry after he finishes up. Even if he feels all guilt stricken and mopey about what he did, it doesn't mean he won't do it again like the last time and the time before that.

I won't tell you want to do, but I will say: Watch out. You're in a situation that's sexually dishonorable, and it has a very high chance of turning dangerous before you realize you need to get out of there. I wish you the best.

By law, it's rape. But, I understand why you're feeling the way you do and you may not be ready to let go of the relationship. He should respect that his actions weren't acceptable considering your past (even if you didn't have a past, it wouldn't be right).

Sadly, us child abuse survivors tend to attract similar partners. Just be careful and be safe. I myself find it odd as to how you could enjoy having sex with someone asleep. I want my partner to be in the act and see them receiving pleasure.
