DEPO should be taken off the market! How sad is it that people are having such hard times getting pregnant after it. I heard one lady didnt get pregnant for 12yrs after taking it.

I got the depo shot twice and I gained 55lbs. I then stopped after my 2nd one. My last shot was March 16, 2007. Me and my fiance are trying to get pregnant and have been since the day I stopped the depo and 2yrs later I'm still not pregnant and I still have all this weight. I cant seem to lose the weight and when I was on it, I was moody and depressed and I spotted once a month for a day or 2 now my periods are irregular and when I do get them they are so painful I just wanna lay in bed and cry.

i have been on the depo for about two years and my side effects are loss in sex drive i gained about 15 pounds which was okay because i was trying to gain weight anyway but sometimes the mood swings are overwheming for me and my boyfriend i admit sometimes i am like a mad woman with a mission every little thing makes me go on this emotional rollercoaster and i have like no control over it at all i am thinking about getting off of it though but i am horrible with pills and dont like the iud any suggestions i mean i have heard all the health risks about the depo only its kind of two years too late i wish i would have known this before hand i would have thought twice about getting on it.Comment

I've been on depo since 2007. almost 2years now. and yes it has basically tricked me into thinking i was pregnant more than once. I've heard that if you switch from the shot to the pill that you will get back to normal faster. & your fertility will come back quicker. anyone know if that is true?
Either way I"m switching in hopes that sooner rather than later we can have another baby. I wouldn't recommend the depo shot for anyone!!! ever!Comment

Hey there, i have been on the depo shot since March '09. So ive had the shot 3 times now. I did not gain weight, although i was already a little over weight and was made aware of the possibility. I have had no mood swings. The only side effect that scared me was not having my period for 3 months now. But my doctor tests before each new shot to ensure that im not pregnant. Other than that i love that i dont havw to remember the pill and a simple shot every 3 months works for me.Comment
