    Essure

I had my Essure inserted today, after a consult with the doctor a month ago. I was told it would take approx 15 minutes. I was in there for 2 hours, and never have I experienced pain like that in my life. I understand one of my tubes was a bit blocked with "fluff", but had I been able to get off the table I would have insisted all tools, springs, sprockets, whatever, be removed at once. My pain was one that should have been done under general anethesia, not a shot. It was the most unbearable thing I have ever had done.

I realize I am the exception... but just wanted to let women know a standard 15 minute procedure can turn into 2 hours of unbearable pain.

    Good luck!

      Essure Troubles

I had the procedure done on Jan 23rd. Have not stopped bleeding since or cramping or having back pain and headaches. Some days it's only spotting and others are very heavy bleeding. I wish I had done more research before having this done, I would have just had a regular tubal. My doc has been "understanding". He told me for the first few weeks that 30% of women can have unusal bleeding. This was not told to me before the procedure, just that I could expect some spotting for the first few days. Well this to me is more than a little unusal. He put me on the pill after a month, loestrin. 2 pills a day for the first week and a half then one pill. It didnt really change anything. I had a sonogram today. Hopefully will get some answers tomorrow. He acts like I'm blaming him (which I guess I could) but I just want this over with. I have been keeping a log of every time I call the office to complain. Can anyone let me know what other actions are being taken against this company.

You can click on my name for private message and find my email address to contact me. I am pursuing action. I had 2 ultrasounds which did not show problem with metal coils. Regular xray showed that one coil looked bent. Had to have surgery to remove them and they both had moved. One had perforated my uterus and was causing extreme pain. The doctors don't know what to do when there is a problem. I think they do think maybe they did something wrong so they try to blame the problems on everything but the procedure itself. The company's favorite line is this has never happened before, or it is very rare to happen. Research and you will find that this procedure has major problems. It all hinges on if they can place them, if they stay in place, if the tubes occlude.

          Essure question

after reading these threads I am concerned about the pain I have been having in my lower right side of abdoman. I thought it might just be a muscle strain, I work at the airport and lift luggage quite often in my job. I had the essure procedure done in November of 2007 approx 18 months ago. It was uncomfortable but not terrible when the procedure was done, i had cramps for about 2 days. The xray test that was done 3 months later showed that the procedure was successful. But recently I have been feeling this dull chronic pain in my lower left abdoman. It is not really sensitive to the touch, but is a type of cramp that I have never felt before. It is not unbearable, but it starting to really annoy me. My boyfriend jokingly said.... its not your coils poking out is it?? That made me think... is that possible?? Anyway, I am making an appointment to see my OBGYN. I am due for my annual anyway. But I just am not sure what questions to ask her, and can I trust her answers. After reading some of these threads, I do not know what to think. Anyone with advice... please respond in a private message, or post reply. THANKS! Paige

kym4, firstly you need to post some 33 before anyone can PM you and they also need the same amount of posts.

I am sorry you have gone through something that obviously went wrong but it may not be the case with others and you can't really use this site to tell the world how to sue people without getting yourself into trouble..

            My Opinion.

For the other posters, anything can happen in the wrong way, it is different for all... Do your own research and establish if it's life or a problem that occured that shouldn't have.

Sorry I thought this forum allowed private messages. Didn't realize until after I posted that it wasn't private message. Should have changed my post. I couldn't figure out how to edit it.

CHANDLERS WISH... just my opinion.. but I think all people who have had ensure done will in some time down the road have problems.. just hope there not as bad as mine..

been 6 months after procedure.. been pregnant once since procedure was deamed to be successful and nothing but bleeding and pain since..

currently I have 4 months give or take...to convince my doctor to say its essure's fault and make them or my medical coverage cover it before I loose so much blood I die...

So far been going in monthly for blood transfusions due to "unexplained loss of blood" yeah right

                    Thanks for all this information

I joined this site today so I could post a message. I have never done this before. I was on Internet looking for info about essure and I ran across this sight. I was very sad but relieved to know that what I have been going through since having my essure inserted in July 2008 is not that uncommon. And I am not having Phantom pain as suggested by my dumb doc. I have been going through and I continue as of today to go through . I am in constant pain. My pain is in my left groin area. I have had all kinds of test (ultra sounds, Cat scans, MRI's etc). Doctors alleges they cant find problem. HCG test in October showed coil in abdomen, that test has not been repeated. So after reading all your post I will insist that my HMO/disgrace health plan give me a second HCG. Is it true that having Essure Micro inserts make nearby tissue harder to see obsure images?

                      Glad I found this discussion

This week I received a glossy brochure from the Essure folks. It looked very good, and I checked out their Web site and was really considering getting the procedure done. It took some searching to find this forum. Wow! I'll say that I'm not having this done. With all of these posts, just think of how many more women have had problems. Thank you guys for sharing your stories, and I wish all of you the best for getting the problems caused by this procedure fixed. It's interesting how they don't mention the various perforations some of you have experienced as a side effect
