    question about condom

    hi everyone
My bf doesn't like wearing condom because it makes him feel uncomfortable, tight, and he said he can't cum with the condom on. But for safety, especially for myself, I stil prefer him to wear it. Is there any kind of condom that is more comfortable that any of you recommend?

Make sure he keeps the condom on ! I'm sorry to say that he seems pretty young and immature to even say all that to you.

Has he tried Magnum ? They are made bigger than regular condoms. How about the polyurethane ones ? With the choice between latex and polyurethane my husband would not use latex. We use the Avanti ones and he says they are tons better.

There are many different brands of condoms for a reason; you both need to try a variety before you quit on condoms! The fit can vary from one to the next.
He needs to find a "favourite" brand. Don't let price stop him either; if it's that big of a deal, buy them yourself to try out on him. You're RIGHT in protecting your body and it's selfish of him to disrespect that. I don't know of a single person who would prefer sex with condoms, but in many cases it's just a necessity.
The kind my boyfriend and I use are made by Trojan. I forget which particular version it is, but from what I hear Trojan is quality. Have fun in your search

My boyfriend and I use Lifestyles. I'd say he's above average size and he doesn't complain about it not fitting. Like the others said just buy several different kinds until you find one that works for you both. Condoms take getting used to but after a while you don't even notice that they are there. If he refuses to wear one then I would seriously rethink whether or not he's worth sticking with.

Babyinlove...what your boyfriend says is semi-correct. Condoms do take away from the "feeling" of things. That having been said, condoms take away "slightly" from the feeling of things. He can feel plenty with a condom on unless you spoil him by letting him switch back and forth. Then he's never going to want to use a condom, and I don't blame him. Here's my recommendation. It's very basic.

Make sure he uses condoms with you. Whatever brand/etc...that's all fine, but make sure he uses a condom EVERY TIME. The problem is when you switch back and forth, between using and not using condoms, it's like "night and day" difference. If you consistently use condoms, a guy allows his body to become adjusted to the feelings that he DOES get. While these are different from going without, they are still dang FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll try to point out the difference...in a way that's easy to understand, it's like eating french fries. Most people think french fries are awesome. I know I do. BUT, if you add salt and ketchup to the french fries, their out of this world. Here's the thing. If you only eat your french fries with salt and ketchup, and then you get some just plain, it's kinda like. WTF is this?!?!?! BUT if you get french fries (sex) to begin with, you OUGHT to be thrilled with that alone!!!!!!!!!!!! Salt and ketchup are bonuses that are reserved ONLY for when the time is right and it's appropriate (ie, you can take the risk of pregnancy or KNOW you're clear of any risk of there being multiple partners, past partners, or disease).

So, I think you're very kind to give your boyfriend some of the best french fries that are available in the world today! Just hold the salt and ketchup until you're relationship is ready to deal with the possibility of the consequences that come with that additional risk.

          Cheers.

PLEASE listen to Fire. Unless you are committed to this guy use BC everytime. Unwanted pregnancy, STDs and AIDs make this a MUST! If he is uptight about HIM wearing a condom there is the Female Condom. We used that for a while for the "variety" and its fine but more expensive.

Finding one thats the right size really is a good idea (I think) We used some Japanese Condoms because they were "tight" and he felt more sensitive. Plus less worry about them falling off.

Condoms are better then nothing but I would strongly suggest you add a spermicide or be on some form of Birth Control in addition. The way he talks is a looming disaster. Unprotected sex in 2008 is an insane idea.

Condoms are a total pain in the ****, I hate them. I'm of an average size I'd suppose, but many that I've tried are so tight that by the time you've battled it on sex is the last thing on your mind. If I'm to orgasm with a condom on, it's generally too forced to be enjoyable for me.

He'd much appreciate it if after a while of sex you'd flick the condom in the bin and finish him orally, so he could actually feel something.... If you're in a committed long term relationship then I'd say get on the pill and forget about condoms.

A problem that I seem to have with condoms, as well as the aforementioned, is that my foreskin returns to cover the head of my penis, slightly or completely, and as the condom is on it is basically impossible to retract it again. Honestly condoms are the most useless invention ever (obviously they're not useless, but they do a good job of rendering one of the best things in the world boring and stressful).

Anon - As for finishing orally, go lick a condom for me. I don't know what it is that makes it taste like that, but the taste stays ... and if you're having sex with a condom, then stop to give her oral, *reportedly as obviously I can't know this myself* it tastes the same.

Hmm, maybe that's just spermacide, but I get the point. Just like lots of lubes taste awful too. Well, in that case I'd suggest using a dildo on yourself and giving him oral! haha.

Seriously, condoms suck. I think if a partner said "it's condoms all the way 'till we decide to have children", I'd have to break up with them.

I'm not saying this is grown up, responsible behaviour - I just hate condoms. And so do a fair few guys I know.

Practically, masturbating gives me faaaaaaaar more pleasure than sex with a condom. The only reason to do it is to make it mutual.

I am circumcised, and I can tell you that condoms do detract from the feeling a bit, but not appreciably enough not to use them. Prior to my getting married I had many sexual partners and I didn't have unprotected sex with any of them.

I think it's very realistic that the choice should be: Either you do it with a condom on or you don't do it. If I was a girl that would be my rule...hard and fast whether or not I was on the pill. When I got married, then I'd go bareback, but until then, negative.

Anon, I understand your perspective perfectly. I think being uncircumcised is a complicating factor in this case. Maybe some other guys who are uncircumcised can join the discussion to see if there's something we're missing. I can understand why, if you had skin over the head, and a condom on top of it, it might just not be worth having sex.

                    Cheers.
