This post is for anyone and everyone who has chronic vaginal infection, bv, yeast, whatever... I had BV and chronic yeast infections for about 7+ years...constantly inflamed cervix, pain with sex, discharge, smell etc. Just extremely uncomfortable. Doctors couldn't find anything wrong with me just kept prescribing antibiotics which helped for a short time but as soon as i was off of them it would come back within a week. and i was tired of taking pills and vaginal creams. I tried MANY remedies. None worked. Not probiotics, any kind of teatree insert, ph balancing creams and yogurts, Some were messy, some uncomfortable. If you guys are like me you would try ANYTHING to get rid of it. Anyway, long story short, I just wanted to share what worked for me so maybe it could help someone else. CALCIUM BENTONITE CLAY. It's a miracle. I discovered it, completely unrelated to BV, just was going to use it for detoxing but then as i used it i noticed my BV had disappeared. I still have to take it often (like at least 4 times a week) to keep it away. When i stop taking it my BV and yeast infections come back (probably comes back within a couple weeks) but the best part is, if they come back i just have to start the calcium bentonite again and they go away within a few days without antibiotics. the smell the discharge, the inflammation everything goes away. Amazing!!!

I suggest you all do some research on it, see what its all about. But basically, it will balance the ph in your body and it attracts and absorbs any harmful chemicals, bacteria, metals pollutants etc in your boy and carries them out through elimination. i drink it with apple juice. not the best tasting stuff but i dont care cuz it works miracles. Before you purchase some, make sure it has a high ph balance closer to 9.7 the better. And make sure it is edible grade clay. some is not and is for external use only. I drink it in the morning (sometime evening if i forget in the morning), about a table spoon in a little apple juice. the acidity of the apple juice helps to dissolve the clay better than water. If you have tried everything and nothing has worked for you i suggest giving this a try. give it a couple weeks and see what happens. I really hope this helps someone, i would have given anything to get rid of my bv before i found this.

i forgot to mention i've been using calcuim bentonite clay for about 1.5 to 2 years and haven't had to do anything else different in order keep the bv away.

        So many good ideas

I've just spent the last hour reading this thread and feel so encouraged. I had researched all the 'official' health sites and they were so clinical, vague in mentioning how long BV might last and really didn't give a clue of the emotional toll this thing has on sufferers. I'm a 42 year old woman and this is the third week I've had BV and it's terrible. I'm on my second course of antibiotics and there seems to be no difference in the discharge...and worst of all, the overwhelming odour. It's just rank. I find myself standing at a distance from people, avoiding hugs, sure they can smell me, racing off to the toilet to change sanitary pads (I know others on the thread say not to use them, but I have to wear them so my underwear isn't soaked and therefore smell even worse). I've seen the doctor twice and have just been prescribed the same as everyone else has mentioned. Only started to read this thread after lying in bed, miserably aware of my disgusting odour - my partner commented on the smell as he climbed in - and this was just an hour after having a long shower. Am going off to the health food shop tomorrow to try the hydrogen peroxide, apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil ideas. But feel really cross that the western medical profession seems to take no notice of the mental/personal anguish women go through who have BV. At the very least, acknowledge what can be done about the odour - and giving us some more dignity. Providing other options for cures would be even better.

I think my BV started because of chronic lack of sleep and fatigue - my daughter has been restless at night for about 6 months and it's been about three months since I've had more than a few hours of consecutive sleep. Have been drinking stacks of coffee, minimal water and eating way too much sugar to keep energy levels up as a result. This thread has really highlighted the need for a better diet and to be much more hydrated. Sleep - well, I can only dream (ha).

Thanks everyone for all your ideas. Am crossing fingers that one of them - or a combo - will work.

Hey ladies. I have been reading all the good info in this thread. I really have no idea if BV is what I have. I made an appointment with my obgyn but it's not til October of course. For the past few months I have noticed some changes "down there". I have noticed recently during sex with my boyfriend that I have a different odor than I always had. It makes it to where I don't even want to have sex. I have no discharge and no pain. I have noticed I don't get as wet during sex as I used to either. Does this sound like it could be the beginning of BV?? I wanna get it taken care of, the smell is so mortifying!! He tells me I'm crazy, but I can tell it smells different. I'm thinking of just trying some of the methods you ladies have given on here and seeing if they help!

          Thanks for listening!!

Did you have to buy this online or can you find it in stores? I've never heard of it before and I'm not really willing to buy something that's only available online for safety reasons.

Thank you for sharing I have been suffering on and off for the past 6 years.. I know that every one has a trigger, but I can't figure out what mine is. I have a 13month old baby and was free during my pregnancy and 6 or 7 months post partum. I'm not sure what to do, and it's taking a tole on my marriage.. I've tried the peroxide douch diluted 1/2 and 1/2 with sterile water, it washed everything away then the next day it was back and worse, so I tried again today and now I have a little bit of blood mixed with discharge (haven't had a period because I breast feed, so it's not a period) so I'm worried that either the infection or peroxide have damaged some tissue in there.. Anyone have any problems like this? I'm praying I find a solution to this curse! As you all know, it really takes a toll.

I have had BV on & off since my early 20s. I am 43 now & the last 3 yrs have been a constant battle w/ it. I have tried about everything listed on all the Help Websites. I just read an article on how BV can be tied to tooth decay, which is interesing to me because I just had all of my old fillings removed over the past 2 yrs & either had them refilled w/ composite fillings or had crowns put on. The old fillings had started to break down, so bacteria was getting underneath & the teeth were decaying once again. Last yr I had all of the work done on my upper teeth. This yr, the lowers. Lo & behold, my BV disappeared very quickly once the tooth decay was removed, I didn't put 2 & 2 together until I read that article though. I normally don't follow posts once a problem is solved but this one is personal to me because I know how a life can be basically ruined by BV. If you're * your wit's end, try this route. Good luck!!

Oh boy I really hope that that was coincidence( the tooth thing ). I'd hate to have to fix my fillings.
Anywho I'm new here and have been suffering with this for three years. I'm 33. Two children.
I refuse to take dr antibiotics methadone cream only to be stripped of all my good and bad stuff down there. And then to top it off only be temporary fixed and followed by a yeast infection. No thank you doctors.
I don't understand how they haven't conducted extensive research to find out why so many of us women are living with horrid condition. I guess we should conduct our own study to find out what's causing it at least.
I do think stress, lack of water contribute and goodness knows what else.
So what I did was I paid and downloaded a bv remedy two years ago but now I can't find it. I also had myself and hubby get oral antibiotics from the doctor and then I treated myself with the download which is from what I remember the perioxide douche with distilled water and folic acid( all I can remember). I find It helps helps but it's been there lightly but there. I'm also taking a probiotic now. I'm also going to take away coffee again.
But until these slacker doctor/ scientists don't feel like finding the cure for this condition I feel we are doomed to suffer.
So on that note, I Hope we all get our much deserved healing in the near future.

It's been a while since the first posts I've read, but this past year and a half I've had on and off again BV. It's either BV or yeast. Antifungals for yeast made BV flare up. Antibiotics for BV caused yeast. Btw I hate metronidazole. It makes me sick. I beginning to think the cause is something with my fiancé's "discharges"... As in maybe his Ph is off and is screwing up mine. When we're regularly active, every few days, the BV always comes back. If it's only maybe once a week, it's usually ok. I hate feeling "dirty" when I know I'm not.
