I also tried Femanol, which actually did take the odor away... I was taking 2 in the a.m. & 2 in the p.m., more than recommended but that's what I needed to get results.

After 5 more painful days the results came back positive for BV and she wanted me to take more antibiotics. I refused and she washed her hands of me. I have been researching since to help myself as no one in the medical profession would help me. Everything that you have suggestd I have tried on my own with info I got from other sites. The only caution I have is to be sparing with the Tea Tree Oil as I gave myself quite a rash with it. But it did get rid of the infection! I am now going to continue on with some liquid acidophilous and rinsing with apple cider vinegar. You can also drink 2 T of Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of water every once in a while. This helps with bladder Ph and lots of other things. thank you for taking the time to post this!
I believe I contracted BV in mid january 2013,at first I thought it was UTI/bladder infection because the first sign was burning during urination;also slight pain in my navel if I took to long to eat ( gas).I was prescribed some antibiotics but the problem persisted.I tried different antibiotics again after 3 doctor visits and still no relief ..then in August 2013 my symptoms changed to this sometimes runny, watery but mostly mint green/grey discharge which is thick/clumpy in consistency ;at that moment I was convinced I wasn't suffering from a UTI..I visited a different doctor ,he speculated either Tricomoniasis or BV ,he tested me and I was positive for BV ._. **sigh**.Despite my discussion with the doctor explaining that I was on antibiotics before he still prescribed (Flagyl) .I desperately took them ,deep down inside during the treatment I was pessimistic ..The flagyl didn't work .In december I tried Garden of life's Raw probiotics with vaginal care ,still I got no relief ,the product has great reviews though but maybe I needed to try it with vaginal insert treatments (maybe VHessentials BV vaginal inserts)..I'm tired of having to live like this ,I NEED HELP!!! we're in a new year and I'm hoping I'll get rid of it this year.

I was convinced for over a year I had BV they tested me for Ureaplasma and now I have no bv symptoms. It was never BV. A year of harsh antibiotics and home remedies (some brutal too) please talk to you doctor about Ureaplasma!

Ummm hi everyone. I'm 20 and I think I've had this "BV" thing for like.. 4 years or so I thinkk. I thought it was a yeast infection at first so I went to a "lady doctor" and she basically sat there and told me that everything was normal. It really wasn't. Itching, pain, soo much discharge, and some stinky but not too much really. My main issues are the pain and discharge. But before I went to the doctor I tried those freaky sticks called monistat#, but they didn't work because I thought I had a yeast infection but I didn't :[. So anyways I went to the doctor, she told me to log my discharge. I did. It was a lot, and every single day, for 6 weeks. So I went back to her and she told me that it was normal, again. I INSISTED that it wasn't, so she took some of the icky from my 'downstairs', and I tested positive for bacterial vaginosis. now, I dunno if any of you have been prescribed these sticks that you stick up there then shove the cream through, but that's what I've been prescribed.

There's a couple things I wanna know about them:
            1. I'm a virgin, is it okay to use sticks like that? Will they be ineffective if my hymen isn't broken-- will the hymen block the cream?-- like i said i've used sticks like this before but they didn't work because they were for a yeast infection, so im still not sure if being a virgin is a problem. the last set of sticks didn't break my hymen as far as I know
            2. I'm scared to death of those things and it hurts really badly to stick anything up there.. soo.. any suggestions..?
            3. Can I use them while i'm on my period? Probably not a good idea huh..

Sorry guys I'm kind of still a kid about this and pretty dumb, but like.. my vagina almost always hurts and I have to always wear a pad because icky stuff comes out of me a lot.. It's really really upsetting and I think about it every single day and some days it makes me wanna cry, or actually cry. And I'm not one to cry a lot. I also think it might be causing some acne, but I'm not sure. My skin is usually pretty clear, but more and more lately it's been getting worse.

Also, a little heart to heart if you guys don't mind.. I know I'm young. But I dated a guy for like 2 years and I even lived with him for about a year, and we never had sex once. I wasn't sexually attracted to this guy and I used BV as an excuse not to have sex with him. However, now, I'm actually with someone I feel a connection with, so.. It's pretty upsetting going through this, when I finally have a connection with someone like that and could quite possibly lose my virginity to him. Even more, he's a virgin too so it's even worse that he wants really likes me too and we're both just stuck virgins cause I'm some leaky freak with a pad on all day every day. I also don't want my first experience with sex to be ultra painful and disgusting and just.. god awful.

Please tell me your thoughts anyone.. Help me out with any of my little problems if you can :[ Life's been really hard lately and constantly having this on my mind isn't helping. Thanks for reading guys :[

I am 40 years old, and have had chronic yeast Infections since I can remember! In 2012, I had a partial hysterectomy and felt a different type of yeast infection. It was BV. At first I thought I had an STD from my partner, and almost broke up with him thinking he was lying to me. Then it continued to happen. After I was treated for BV, and waited 7-10 days the symptoms of fishy smelling discharge was gone! As soon as my boyfriend and I had sex, only a few days later I started having an itch, followed by increased discharge, followed by a disgusting foul odor! Since my hysterectomy, I have had BV almost twice a month at least. It is so frustrating, as well as embarrassing! I also am taking OTC pills to reduce symptoms an recurrence of BV. I think just like the HIN1, maybe there is a strain of yeast bacteria that has a resistance to antibiotics? I'm willing to research the OTC products and treat myself. This is annoying, and I hate taking those nasty pills twice a month. Please help!

I cured my Bacterial vaginosis after a 5 year battle by soaking a tampon in a mixture of Baking Soda and Apple Cider Vinegar and keeping it in over night. It took two days and I have been symptom free for over a year. I repeat sometimes after my period or just use a small amount of baking soda douche in the shower after my period if I feel my ph balance is off. NO JOKE IT WORKS!!!

1200 mgs of folic acid a day cured me 100% in under two days, a $6 bottle cured my four month struggle.
