    hey!

its been 2 months since I took Plan B, AND I am dizzy all the time! I have also had horrible cramps throughout the month. I took 2 pregnancy tests and I had my period, so probably not pregnant. How long did it take for your system to get back to normal would you say? Please help.

    Thank you!

I have had to take the morning after pill 3 times now. All three times the condom broke with my same partner. We make crazy love, and these things happen. I'm not on birth control because I hate taking medication. I guess this is the price I have to pay...

The first time was in 2008. I took a two step pill, and gained 15 pounds within weeks. My periods after that were irregular for months.

Later in 2008, it happened again...maybe 4 or 5 months later. I had no other choice, so I took it again. Around that time I decided to get myself into physical shape. I knew I'd most likely gain even more weight and had no idea what it would do to my periods.

I began a healty diet and excercise plan. Lost all the previous weight I gained & then some. Was in the best shape in my life. And my periods after about 4 or 5 months were back to normal.

Flash forward 3 years. It's 2011 and I had to take the morning after pill 2 weeks ago. I haven't been on a diet and exercise plan since I lost all the weight (so, about 2 years now), and I'm immediately feeling the side effects. Weight gain, bloatedness, diarehhea....I want to cry when the dumbest commercials come on...I expected it. I haven't had a period yet, since the incident happened a week or so after my period, so I'm not sure what's going to happen there. But I know the first time it left me physically and mentally out of wack for months.

So what's my suggestion here? Probably when taking this you should take extra care of your body. I'm going to start my diet and exercise routine back up and let you know if that helps. That's really the only conclusive evidence I have from my experience. But we're not alone. This sucks.

How long did it take you to get your body back on track? I feel super bloated, emotional, and dizzy all the time! It's been 3 months since I took this! Any advice would be so appreciated. Thank you!

Well Cachalo, have you had a follow up appointment with your obgyn and talk to him about these issue you having with the Plan B morning after pill. Have you thought of other option other then the pill like the norco shot. Maybe your body will react better with these forum of birth control. But you should be talking with your Obgyn about these issue you are suffering from.
When out driving always turn left. Then, should you become lost, you can find your way home by reversing the procedure and always turning right.

Yeah well like some other ppl posted, because its been 3 months since I took it no DR believes me when I mention Plan B The last DR said it was stress. My last period was also super light, which I heard can be attributed to Plan B. I have already taken 2 blood tests and they both were at 0. I guess I am just worried they didn't work, or that my body may have reacted really badly to the Plan B...sigh......

hi cachalo, how are you feeling? are you feeling any better? what did you do?. I took plan B unecessarily in january, after that I've been experiencing terrible cramps and PMS symptoms throughout the whole month until now. I am feeling slightly better but I did get shooting pains few weeks ago. I went to many Ob/Gyns all of them don't think it's the plan B, I finally found one that convinced me... she said Plan B couldn't cause such damage though, I disagree as I've never had these issues before. I did all checks and I was good so basically she put me on progesterone for 10 days and now I am on the Yasminelle pill. I still have something that bothers me in my pelvic area and I really hope it's not endometriosis or something, I believe is a very bad hormonal imbalance. My advice, go have all the checks you can and get opinion from more than just one doctor. Your hormones are probably out of whack just like mine and being on the pill for a couple of months would help to balance them out. Don't do it by yourself, you need to have professional advice and also prescription for anything you may take ok. Let me know how you are doing. I am experiencing pretty much the same as you. Never had painful periods in my life, but it got worse after the period. Like I said, I feel slightly better, I am on the pill for 10 days now but they say it's not immediate anyway.

Hi purplelight, thank you for sharing your experience. I felt very alone in this and it's nice to hear someone that can relate. I am going to the DR again today, we'll see. I am also a little better in terms of the cramping throughout the month, it's subsided. However, I continue to get random dizzy spells and my breasts appear slightly bigger. I think you're right about it being a hormonal imbalance. I also get the one off shooting cramping pain randomly. Another symptom i had that i didnt mention is that in March i suffered from anxiety-like synptoms. Due to the sumptoms i mamaged to convience myself i was pregant and felt a lot of anxiety. Also, like you said I never had painful periods or anything like this before plan b. While plan b may not directly cause all this it most certainly contributed to it somehow. I hope you are feeling better and please let me know about your progress.

Hi Cachalo, what did the doctors say? how are you feeling now? I am alright but I experience annoyance everyday in my pelvic area, it hurts sometimes... this is my first month of BC pills now though and I am not feeling worse at least... I need tohave more checks but I'll do them when my insurance covers them in June and July, by now I am following the contraceptives treatment.

                  Hi purplelight,

I got a bunch of tests done, I am still waiting for a lot of results back. Pretty much they were done to check for hormonal imbalances. The DR said this is likely it. I am not dizzy as often anymore, thank God! My period continues to be a wierd consistency though, much more watery than before, I definitely think this has to do with Plan B. Once I get all my tests results back I am going to the Dr, I think they will probably put me on birth control. Do you feel better after taking it? Also will you have to take it for a long time or just a short period? Hope you are feeling better.

My period just ended and honestly, it was the best one I got after 4 months... less painful and I still feel annoyance after the period but it is less than before, most definitely, so I guess the pill is helping very slowly... Like I said, I still need to do more checks, and I will be done with them in July, but I'm not feeling miserable anymore. I'm taking them for 3 months, then after that I'll see how I feel and what to do... My plan is to stop taking them ASAP anyway, so I hope I can get rid of them few months from now, but I'll follow the treatments as the doctors tell me.

I know this is a really old thread, but I came across it in a Google search, and was wondering whether anyone ever got any answers? I'm 28, took Plan B about a year and a half ago, and have been having menstrual problems ever since. I have anywhere between two to five days of spotting before finally getting my period, and occasionally some mid-cycle spotting as well. My doctor checked my thyroid and it was normal, and my last pap smear was clear, but I'd never had any spotting before taking EC (except when I was on birth control pills), so this is freaking me out a little. I had taken EC once before (when I was 20, I think) and didn't have these problems...
