Hmm, I don't quite remember when mine started. I was probably 10, it was in my 6th grade I believe. I've had pain on both sides of the inside, sometimes both at once, more often one at a time. It can range from burning pain(like a thousand burning needles), to a sharp stabbing pain. Sometimes it's endurable, sometimes I hunch over and gasp it out. It's generally worse for me right before/during my period, however that doesn't restrain it to that time. The good days are far rarer than the bad. Pain relief comes in the form of lying down on my back or side. Sitting, if I am sitting far back and the chair is soft, doesn't usually hurt, but sometimes it does. If I sit on my heels and let the pain go, it eventually numbs out, and lends me some relief that way. I've seen a Gynacologist, Urinologist, had ultrasounds done, taken urinary tract antibiotics as well as ones for yeast infection....Nothing has worked or shown damage. I often find release when I urinate, although the relief is only temporary. Often I end of relieving myself when the pain becomes too much. I also like some others have mentioned, urinate very little at these times, even if the urge to go is great. Not to sound sexual at all( this is said in a completely non sexual way) but massaging down there generally gives a little relief as well(sometimes, not all the time). The doctors I see generally like to foist me off on other specialists, who do some tests and send me home with nothing. I'm considering going in again, but it really is depressing when no one can figure out what's wrong.

endometriosis? Do you get the pains all the time? Or just around when your menstruating? Well, I mean, does the pain get worse when menstruating? It's a very common thing, and is just in the 'area' it's never really in one place...

Google it and see if it relates, ya?

I'm 18 and I have just recently became sexually active but i've had these pains way before though.... I have no idea why but at random times I find myself having to lift myself from wherever i'm sitting cause it's like a shock in my pelvis area. It scares me cause i'm paranoid as it is...

I started having these random sharp shooting pains going up my vagina when I was about 8 months pregnant, so I thought my cervix was opening up. Now after I had the baby and he is 4 months old I still get the shooting pains every once in awhile. I wish I knew what it was, it really concerns me. I have also had a lot of dizzy spells and low blood sugar, I wonder if it's related.

I cannot even express how happy I am to hear all of your comments! I am 24 years old and have been experiencing this since I was 18. I refer to them as "stabs", because that is what it literally feels like. Sometimes it feels vaginal, sometimes it travels up through the uterus like a bolt of lightning. I have mentioned this to my gyno multiple times and my examines always come back ok. I feel like if it was a terrible issue, our gynos would have caught something. The nurse told me that other women have complained about the same thing and she said it was normal; that is was just a cramp. I am actually experiencing the stabs now..ugh. I just joined and I am so happy to hear all of your stories. I am looking foward to chatting more and hearing from those who are having the same issues! And Happy Mother's day to all the mom's out there

I'm a 17 year old girl and I've been having this same pain for about 3 months now and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing these things. I'm not sexually active and my periods are regular and my mother and both sisters don't have this issue so they think I'm imagining it and I hope someone can find some answers. I know when I get my pain I take tylonel and that helps keep it away because if I don't I have the pain all day and into the night unless I take something for it. Also I have a cornbag and heating that up and putting it down there helps alot. Hope we find some answers soon!

Hi yea I'm only 14 years old and I just had this THING happen. I was about to go to sleep so I turned over on part of my side part of my tummy. Then that's when I felt the sharp pain start from my belly button to the clitoris. The pain was so excruciating. I thought I was dying. I didn't want to move because every time I did the pain would run from my clitoris near the entrance of my vagina. Every time I thought it was over a quick maybe 3 second pain would stop my hopes. I don't know what it is. Please help me. Even as I am writing this I am havering quick short little pains. But the make me want to cry. Please reply to my email. crazie_child_17*yahoo.com please this is only happened once before when I was about 12. Even I don't remember exactly what happened.

                    Same here

I'm so glad to hear I'm not alone! I'm 17, have been sexually active for a year but I've been feeling this for nearly two years now. It's like sharp stabbing pains and its always in the same spot mine doesn't move around. I think it's around my cervix but I can't tell I just know its deep and it makes me jump. It's completely random and I can't find any kind of pattern! It lasts only for half a second so I don't even have time to try and alleviate the pain because it comes and goes so quickly.

                      Relieved!

Okay, I am so relieved to hear I am not the only woman experiencing these odd pains! I'm 19 (will be 20 the end of this month). I'm having these odd pains right as I type.
It feels like an electric shock, and then a cramp, and they usually last about 10 seconds with me, but sometimes they come back, even more intensely. Changing positions can make it go away, but aahh, are they PAINFUL. I'm wondering if it's just a normal to get them from time to time, or if it means there is some underlying conditions. I think they started showing up about 3-4 years ago, but I've just been noticing them a lot lately...I am a very healthy person, I eat right, and am a dancer, and exercise and stretch a lot. I just wonder what it means and what causes it? O_o
