I do have the same thing, but I dont know whether this is BV or yeast infection, my discharge is yellowish to greenish but mostly yellow, odorless, but I can feel it comes out from my vagina sometimes like youre menstruating, and the look is like cottage cheese.. a bit sticky... doesnt itch so much but sometimes it feels itchy but after I wash with water it goes away.

I never had unprotected sex too, so I have been wondering why Im getting this discharge? ... weird...

and after serveral intercourse with my boyfriend, when he enters, n do it, i feel like i wanna pee so much, and i thought it was normal, but i dont think so anymore since after that, whenever I am almost finish urinating, I feel like i want to pee more but I cant, and it makes me feel so uncomfortable.. sometimes a bit pain... and my urine now smells like antibiotics too (altho I am not taking any antibiotics) ... then I started to take cranberry pills n drink lots of water.. and hoping all these problems will go away..

So, am I diagnosed having a BV and UTI? advise please. how to cure.. Does anyone have the same problem with me?

As I read I feel better and better, yet worse and worse. I feel beter that I am not alone in this however worse that this many women are dealing with this. I am 19 and have been treated for BV 7 times since early March. My fiance is livid with me because I won't take the flagyl or go to the gyno anymore I am tired of hearing the same thing and taking the same Flagyl that makes me so sick. I am tired of being poked and proded and everyone telling me, it might be endometriosis, but we cant find out anything until after the infection is gone. However it doesn't seem like the infection ever goes away. I am young getting married in three months and have problems with out intimate relationship already because I get in so much pain and have so many problems that I begin to just avoid sex altogether. It is actually stressing me, making me sick, I think I have lost my ability to ovulate because my hormone levels are so low. And the worst part is no one can tell me what is wrong or how to fix it!
I am sincerely sorry for the rest of you that deal with this same thing. I know how you feel, and I will pray for all of us.

I found the cure for BV

I had been suffering from BV for about 5 months now, the doctor kept treating me with flagil and metrogel and nothing worked. I googled it and some one told me to try the probiotic Femanol they sell it online, well I started on it about 2 weeks ago and it is a miracle there is no smell and no discharged. Femanol is a bit expensive about $89 for a 60 pill bottle but believe me when I say is worth every penny. Now I heard you can do this regimen for 3 months and then switch to another probiotic call Fem-Dophilus is way cheaper and it does the trick. Except if you start on it without taking the Femanol first it may not get rid of the odor. I wish all of you good luck.

          Bacterial Vaginosis NO MORE!

I am a 45 year old Mom of 5. I am pre-menopausal. I had chronic bacterial vaginosis for what seemed like my whole adult life. I would try flagyl and it would work for a month or so then back would come the odour. When I was married it was worse after sex. I always felt unclean. I was desperate to try something so I just decided no more underwear! And ladies I have a whole new life without any odour and practically no discharge.

It is unbelievable the difference. I wish I had tried it years ago. I know, I know the idea sounds gross and it did take about 2 weeks to get used to but it was worth is for me.

Before I took the no underwear plunge I did try no underwear at night (I was not taught this growing up) but it did not work for me. I have always worn cotton granner underwear, it didn't matter the odour kept returning.

I am going on 3 months now and it is wonderful. It may not work for everyone but it may work for you!

          Let your vagina breathe!

BV is gone for good. I hope!

            Hi
I never usually post anything on these sites but I felt I should share my experiences in the hopes of helping someone else who is suffering with chronic bv/yeast infections. It is a horrible condition which can rob you of your self esteem and confidence and I think I have finally found something that works, for me anyway. The reason I state it works for me is that we are all different and there is usually a root issue/problem causing the bv to reoccur. With me it was more to do with my body ph being out/ leading to hormone issues and bacterial overgrowth in my gut/small instestines for others it can be caused by semen in the vagina disrupting the viginal flora and in this instance a specific treatment like Balance Active or probiotics inserted viginally would probably be sufficient to get your vaginal flora back to were it should be.

I have been suffering with alternating infections of bv/thrush, irregular bowel movements and severe bloating and weight gain for the past 8 months. I had had bv before, several years prior, and had two doses of antibiotics for this. This seemed to help at the time however about 8 months ago I very stressed and felt like I had the weight of the world on my shoulders. I was eating badly, smoking and drinking more than I should and taking no exercise. I knew that I was neglecting my health and sure enough almost over night I looked 6 months pregnant as a result of bloating. I seemed to gain a stone in weight in months, which I now know was partly water retention and then the bv infections started. I was lucky if I had a week free of bv or thrush in 5-6 months. Anyway, I decided that I needed to get well and get my health back on track so I began to do alot of research and managed to get the bloating and other symptoms under control with natural supplements such as oil of oregano, olive extract, coconut oil (organic unrefined/unpressed only), a balanced healthy diet, quit smoking and took more exercise and did everything I could to manage my stress and axiety more effectively (stress releases an excess of hormone cortisol which lead to all kinds of problems), however up until 2 months ago I was still getting the bv and thrush. I was starting to think there was something seriously wrong with me but I didn't let the irrational thoughts take over and perseveredand carried on my research into treatments.

It occurred to me that if my ph was to acidic overall this could be causing the reoccuring bv and the other symptoms I was having. If this was the case my immune function would be unable to fight off the infections and leave me vulnerable to a whole host of medical and health problems. Anyway this brings me to what I consider to be my miracle cure, Apple Cider Vinegar with 'mother'. I ordered the Apple Cider, must be organic (braggs is good and less than £4.00 a bottle) and with the 'mother' and within days I began to see a positive changes. Apple Cider Vinegar makes the body more alkaline, something to do with the way the body metabolises it. My bv and thrush had gone within a week, my skin had cleared (kept breaking out, this was obviously due to toxins in my body escaping through my skin, particularly around my chin) and a wonderful side effect which I was not expecting was that I began to perspire less and there was absolutely no odour. I could go without deodorant in the first time well since I can ever remember. This made me think that maybe my ph had always been a little out of whack and this had caused skin problems and body odour in the past, as I would often need to reapply deodorant throughout the day.

It has been two months now and I am still bv free, my periods are less painful and heavy, my skin is glowing, my stomach is almost flat again and I generally feel better in body and mind.. I have also added a good multivitimen, fish oils and B12/folic acid as I was little low, which showed up on blood tests. However, it was the apple cider vinegar the helped in the first instance and then I added the other supplements later to top up on any vitamins/mineral deficiencies I may have suffered over the past 6-8 months due to my immune system taking working over time.

I have to say I love this stuff and will drink it forever. I drink alot of water anyway and although it is an aquired taste I have grown to love it with a touch of organic unpasterised honey, particulalry as I know the good it is doing me. It has numerous other health benefits which I makes it even more worthwhile.

As I said this is what worked for me. I would definately investigate whether you have a bacterial overgrowth of the intestinal area or imbalance of gut flora and maybe ask your GP to send you for blood tests to identify any problems/defiencies you may have as these can lead to a weakened immune system, leaving you vulenerable to reoccurring infections.

I would advise try organic apple cider vinegar with the 'mother'. B12 and folic acid (should be taken together, something to do with the way they are metabolised) and if you think you may have bacterial overgrowth in the gut or small intestine SIBO a strong natural supplement like oil of oregano Oregano oil products have been used as an anti-viral, anti-fungal, (yeast and candida problems), anti-microbial, olive leaf extract, peppermint oil and coconut oil, however this must be unrefined and cold pressed. I get my mine from coconutty but there are many suppliers just make sure it a good one as refined and heat pressed will do you alot more harm then good.

I really hope this information helps other on the forum suffering with this horrible infection. I am so relieved to be rid of it and feel free and healthy again. Best of luck to all battling BV.

Just wanted to add additional information regarding body ph which relates to my previous post.

Most people who suffer from unbalanced pH are acidic. This condition forces the body to borrow minerals—including calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium—from vital organs and bones to buffer (neutralize) the acid and safely remove it from the body. Because of this strain, the body can suffer severe and prolonged damage due to high acidity—a condition that may go undetected for years.
Mild acidosis can cause such problems as:

Cardiovascular damage, including the constriction of blood vessels and the reduction of oxygen.
              Weight gain, obesity and diabetes.
Bladder and kidney conditions, including kidney stones.
              Immune deficiency.
Acceleration of free radical damage, possibly contributing to cancerous mutations.
              Hormone concerns.
              Premature aging.
Osteoporosis; weak, brittle bones, hip fractures and bone spurs.
Joint pain, aching muscles and lactic acid buildup.
              Low energy and chronic fatigue.
              Slow digestion and elimination.
              Yeast/fungal overgrowth.

              pH and Bone Loss:

A recent seven-year study conducted at the University of California, San Francisco, on 9,000 women showed that those who have chronic acidosis are at greater risk for bone loss than those who have normal pH levels. The scientists who carried out this experiment believe that many of the hip fractures prevalent among middle-aged women are connected to high acidity caused by a diet rich in animal foods and low in vegetables. This is because the body borrows calcium from the bones in order to balance pH. — American Journal of Clinical Nutrition

              Urine pH
Urine testing may indicate how well your body is excreting acids and assimilating minerals, especially calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium. These minerals function as "buffers." Buffers are substances that help maintain and balance the body against the introduction of too much acidity or too much alkalinity. Even with the proper amounts of buffers, acid or alkaline levels can become extreme. When the body ingests or produces too many of these acids or alkalis, it must excrete the excess. The urine is the perfect way for the body to remove any excess acids or alkaline substances that cannot be buffered. If the average urine pH is below 6.5 the body's buffering system is overwhelmed, a state of "autotoxication" exists, and attention should be given to lowering acid levels.

s the whole acid/alkaline balancing act as much of a mystery to you as it was to me? Believe it or not, a pH imbalance may be what causes yeast infections in many people.

Before researching this subject, I didn’t have much of a clue how to tell if I was too acidic, nor what to do about it if I was. I did know that achieving a healthy acid/alkaline balance in my body was sure to affect my diet, which is always a bummer, but usually necessary.

What is Acidosis and What Does It Have To Do With Yeast Infections?

Acidosis is a build-up of large amounts of acid in our bloodstream which results in reduced alkalinity of our tissues and blood.

Why does this matter? The over-all health of our bodies is dependent on “cell communication” between the trillions of cells that make up our bodies. Our cells communicate via hormonal, chemical and electrical impulses and mechanisms. All of this “communicating” requires a balanced slightly alkaline environment to keep things running smoothly and functioning normally.

When our bodies become overly acidic, it negatively affects the functioning of very important cells that make up very important organs including our heart, brain, nervous system, bones, muscles, hair and skin. When these organs aren’t performing “up to snuff”, it obviously opens us up to numerous health problems and serious diseases.

Acidosis becomes a big problem when our bodies are unable to properly dispose of the excess amounts of acid that begin building up in our bloodstream. Our body, in an attempt to keep our pH balance normal, begins trying to eliminate the acid through our lungs, kidneys and skin or as a last ditch effort tries to neutralize the acids through our digestive tract (enter—yeast infections) and the metabolism of our cells.

When large amounts of acid are present in the body, it is unable to keep up with the pace of proper elimination and as a result, the acids overwhelm our system and begin to pollute our blood. This disables the “lines of communication” among the cells in our bodies causing BIG problems and opening us up to serious diseases.

A few of the health problems that may result from acidosis are:

              Osteo and rheumatoid arthritis
              Dermatitis
              Eczema
              Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
              Yeast Infections and Candida Overgrowth
              Fibromyalgia
              Cancer
              Diabetes

Over time, if the acidosis is not addressed and acid continues to build up in our bodies, our organs eventually deteriorate due to cell die-off which leaves us vulnerable to toxins including bacteria, fungus, candida or yeast overgrowth, parasites and mold which then begin feeding off the diseased and weakened organs and tissue. This, in turn, opens the door and invites various diseases to have their way with our bodies.

The pH scale is used to determine our bodies’ acidity and alkalinity. The pH scale ranges from 1 to 14—1 being the most acidic, 7 being neutral and 14 being the most alkaline state. The ideal pH blood level would be around 7.3 which is slightly more alkaline than acidic. If you level is lower than 7.0, you’re headed toward acidosis. However, you don’t want to be too alkaline either—and blood levels above 7.5 indicate that you are overly alkaline.

Balance is the key and, while it may seem complicated, obtaining a healthy pH balance may just be a matter of reviewing your daily diet and cutting out one or two cups of coffee or that bag of potato chips at lunch. Everyone’s body reacts differently, so it’s best to monitor your pH balance with PH Test Strips while you’re trying to balance your diet. This will help you keep tabs on your progress.

In essence, acidosis leads to the literal destruction of our bodies from the inside out and is a big component of what causes yeast infections and other serious diseases.

Thanks for the very interesting post about apple cider vinegar. I am interested in trying it, but don't think I could stomach the taste. How much do you take? I noticed you can buy capsules, although I wonder whether they are worthwhile, since you probably don't get much ACV in a capsule!

                  Hi

It honestly doesn't taste that bad especially with a bit of honey added. I have 1 tablespoon in at least 8oz of warm or cold water 2-3 times a day. I didn't think I could stomach it but I have definately got a taste for it now believe it or not. I am not sure how effective the capsules are in comparison but might be worth a try.

                  Found the following info:
liquid or tincture can be more effective as it by passes some of the digestive processes and therefore has more of an opportunity to provide benefit for the body as many who have health challenges also have reduced or impaired digestion.

Think it would depend on the individual but if you really can't stomach it go for the capsules.

                  Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a go.

I'm a bit confused by it all in relation to the BV though, as it's the alkalinity of the blood that seems to cause the BV, and that acidifying the vagina helps.

Yes I know. Same thing crossed my mind. I can only attribute it to the fact that my overal body ph was too acidic and being both too acidic and too alkaline are both bad. That's really why i have made of point of stating that this worked for me as my root problem was to to with my overall ph being very acidic as a result of bad diet etc and therefore this impacted on my immune function and ability to fight off infection and bacterial overgrowth which led to reoccurring infections. Viscous circle really, the more the infection reoccurs the more my immune system was taking a battering. I would be interested to hear how you get on with apple cider vinegar and whether it works for you. Hope you have some luck with it.
