You might want to switch to underwear and clothes made of organic cotton since those made from conventional cotton has lots of chemicals that might not aggravate the problem. I recommend Cottonique as I have used that personally and found it to be great. Just search for them on Google.

Take a in coated capsule of vitamin c and insert it vaginally.... I promise you it works. Anywhere from 250-500 mg and be sure to use a liner as you will have some discharge afterward

I have been suffering with BV for about 2 years. I have tried everything possible, antibiotics several times, douching with peroxide and these things only helped for a short while and BV was back again. It made me completely insecure and unhappy. My immune system got really weak because of all the antibiotics I have been taking so I have started to drink something called ASEA, a drink which makes your immune system very strong and helps you fight all infections and bad bacteria in your body. I have been drinking ASEA for 8 month now and my BV has completely gone. I got my life and my confidence back.

Although Flagyl is the cure for bv, the medication is killing all bacteria in the vagina, the good and the bad flora. Therefore, after the antibiotic treatment we are left working with "a clean slate" needing to balance the flora all over again. Its a vicious cycle.

Hi. I have been dealing on and off with chronic BV for 15 years. It is a very embarrassing condition, and makes us feel less confident as women. I just had a flare up two weeks ago, and my Dr. prescribed the good old Flagyl gel. I am hoping i don't get another flare up. Over the past few years, I've done alot of research online about bv and how to prevent it. Its been alot better for me. I used to get bv about every 3 months or so, now (except this last time) its been almost a year with no symptoms at all. I have a very sensitive Ph and I recently switched soaps, and thats how I think I threw things off this time. Try doing the following, and you should be almost BV free.....
    1. Try to eat at least one yogurt a day (make sure it has active lacto-acidophillus cultures).
    2. Take a pro-biotic supplement daily. (I take Fem Flora) It is only $6.99 and you can get it at swansonvitamins.com You get a 60 day supply, (one capsule a day) It has worked wonders for me
    3. Do Not Douche at all.... it only makes bv symptoms worse...if you have to douche (AFTER SEX OR MENSTRUAL CYCLE) Use just plain water
    4. Do not use any femine washes, inserts, sprays, or perfumed soaps and bodywashes.
    5. Try to wear panties that have a cotton- crotch, or no panties at all (like at bedtime)
Hope some of these suggestions help. I read that soaking in a bathtub using apple cider vinegar can help greatly with any odor you may be experiencing. Also hydrogen peroxide and water is supposed to help regulate your Ph by killing off the bad bacteria (flora)
I just ordered a product online today, it is a vaginal cleansing system that only requires tap- water. I can't wait to try it.
    Best of Luck..... sherri

Let me tell u how to get rid of this ...change your diet!! Eat more green veggies like spinach..kale..stuff like that..you have to treat the issue which is inflation..and that is what you need to look for when finding a cure..I had a major outbreak about a year ago and started my quest for the perfect cure..DO NOT take the medicine given by doctor..what that does is kill all the good stuff and now the bad stuff grows back 2x worse with the good stuff..so you need to treat the issue which is inflammation ..do the research and u will see for yourself..I nolobger get outbreaks..very little discharge..I take precautions by first hand washing my under garments every time I wear them then put them in the wash..put good things in your body and your body will treat you right!!

    Hello all,
Those of you who are convinced you have chronic BV which does not resolve despite various treatments, it may actually be something else. I have been dealing with what I thought was BV for 5 years so please hear me out. In those 5 years, I have made numerous visits to a GYN where most times I was diagnosed with BV, once with Strep and E. Coli and other times I was told nothing was wrong despite my symptoms.

Now, symptoms are important so here are mine: heavy, yellow(off white), sometimes blood-tinged discharge, painful intercourse, feeling raw(irritation). I have taken countless medications, including antibiotics, boric acid, hydrogen peroxide douche, vaginal Vit. C, probiotics, OTC BV suppositories of all kinds. You name it, I've probably tried it. No relief. This year my symptoms have gotten worse. Namely, I have been feeling really irritated down there.

I did a google search, looked up the best GYNs in NYC and found one who was actually recommended to me also by a staff member from another clinic. During my visit, she took my history, examined me and tested for BV and yeast. Both came back negative. Next, she referred me to a specialist(MD) who said that my symptoms are characteristic of Desquamative Inflammatory Vaginitis. It is a rare and complex disorder. Please look it up online for more info. There seems to a correlation between Vit. D levels and this disorder. Apart from Vit. D, I was also prescribed Folgard Rx(Vit. B12, Folic Acid, Vit. B6). I started the therapy today and I am scheduled to follow up in 12 weeks so I will try to let you know how it goes. She also mentioned gastric/absorption/allergic/immunity problems that appear in patients who present with the symptoms I described above.
If what I described sounds familiar and you'd like the name of the professionals I saw, please PM me.
    Hope this post helps someone.

Right girls I know this works !!!

Do not wash with soap just use water its not like ur dirty is it and the natural moisture ( discharge ) is what will help clear this up, even if its really fishy just leave the soap out and the washes you can buy special are not that good either most are scented which is a no no and otherwise contain chemicals that are not natuaral anyway.

Wear cotton pants through the day and nothing at all on a night if you wear pjs make sure they are loose around the crotch.

Do not wear trousers or tights that are so small and tight they go up there as this will just make things worse and the smell will get on your clothing making it even more noticable.

Get ur guy to use a condom if you are having lots of sex, he will understand if you explain this is a natural problem for every girl out there, I always use condoms and my boyfriend doesnt mind because he is decent and understanding, If this is a big problem for your guy and a little oral or foreplay before sex isnt enough to satisfy him just dump him !!!

There is also a great product called active balance where u get 10 tubes of a lubricant that you insert and dispence in to the vagina 1 tube per night and leave over night that gets rid of BV altogether after about 2 nights. But unless you avoid unprotected sex and washing with soap its pointless.

I follow all these steps and I have been BV free for years and its so so easy.

    Hope this helps
