I regularly suffer from both kinds, and when I have a yeast infection the discharge isn't smelly, but is thick and white/cream (sort of like cottage cheese!). It's very common, and is rarely sexually transmitted. Common causes are use of antibiotics, but even things like a change of soap powder/soap for washing with can cause it.

Hi ladies I have a quick question, lately when me an my boyfriend have been having sex afterwards he starts itching a bit and im wondering why its happening. I think its coming from the discharge im having because it covers his manhood(sorry to be so graphic), but he says its because he needs to shave, so what do you ladies think is it coming from me or its just him. Gosh I pray its just him from needing to shave the hairs, I guess once he shaves I will monitor it an see what happens. Any suggestions on how to get rid of the discharge?Comment

you're saying that he needs to shave because he feels itchy down there? if he just shaved a couple of days then it might be possible because we all know that the growing hair will cause the itch... if the itch is coming from you then you passed it to your bf, I have a question: did you have the itching also before you had sex with him? describe us how the discharge looks like.Hi ladies I have a quick question, lately when me an my boyfriend have been having sex afterwards he starts itching a bit and im wondering why its happening. Thanks for responding, actually my boyfriend didn't shave yet which he and I both know its time for one. I didn't have any itching which I rarely ever get any itching or irritation or burning(thank god for small miracles). I do have a problem with discharge and smell which at the moment I have the odor under control, its just that discharge I cant seem to get rid of. The discharge is white an sticky sorta an it stains my bed sheets when I wipe it on there(sorry tmi)ugh!!! I just don't know what to do at the moment with the discharge, so I guess if he continues to itch after sexual intercourse which it doesn't happen all the time, I will have to check further into it. I have 3bottles of Metro pills an I refuse to take them at this time, I haven't taken any since February of 08 because I was managing it at home with at home remedies, ok im done now thanks for listening an if you have anymore questions please feel free to holla back at me

bummed
So I just finished my 21 days of metro-gel and of course right after I had sex......
BAM!!!!!!!!!
The BV is back and ready to make my life miserable.
I did insert one Vitamin C pill two days ago and another this morning. The pill seemed to work the first time however today it hasn't. The first day it made the smell completely go away. Today the smell is back. I rarely ever have discharge unless I am ovulating or taking metro-gel. I only suffer from the horrible, embarrassing, putrid smell BV gives off.
This time I think I am going to try the whey remedy mentioned previously by some people.
I was curious do these remedies need to be done every day in order to keep the symptoms away? or do they seem to get rid of it all together?
Thank you,

I've been reading about the trials with vitamin C by some of the women on this thread. It's interesting how some remedies work for some and not others. Totally crazy, this BV.
I am not surprised that C tablets caused burning reactions in one or two of the women here. The ascorbic acid most likely...? Sometimes I wonder if it is instead the brand of C you use, or perhaps the form i.e. tablets vs. capsules. When I popped mine, I inserted pretty deep and used a tablet that is timed-release and, in the company's words: "...contains no artificial preservatives, colours, flavours, or added sugar, starch, milk products, yeast, gluten, or salt." I had no reaction other than a strange orgasmy sensation, then the tablet-colored discharge the next day (with no smell).
Before I tried the Vitamin C I had decided to order some of the Molkosan and try the hydrogen peroxide as a wash. It seems like the lactose and whey powders are the most consistent remedies for BV symptoms (they are the "whey" to go, one could say. Sorry. I relieve tension with humor sometimes...and BV makes me tense. heh heh).
I am still symptom-free so far, after using that one vitamin C tablet a couple of months ago. The BV symptoms I had were quite persistent for about one year. For instance, I had almost a constant rotten smell which worsened after sex and periods. Occasionally, I would experience a rush of hot, greyish horrific discharge. My own nice, fluffy, normal white discharge that I had had in regular cycles disappeared (it's back now, I'm glad to say). However, I had no pain or itching with the BV, and I am not prone to yeast infections, unless I've taken antibiotics.
Well, I just thought I'd put this out for anyone it could possibly help. I'd like to put in a little more detail when I can re-start my blogging on WH. Until then, I may join a thread discussing fibroid tumors. I was just diagnosed with a huge one last week. Argh!
I think turning forty may well indeed suck... I'll have to look into this...

Hey, im from the Uk as well. And im buying mine from Boots for i think £9.99. I actually dont think its that expensive. Taking into account how many months ive been suffering. And the medication (pencillin) the docs kept giving me wasnt actually working. Im so glad i found and tried this. Using the first tube has cleared up 90% of the discharge and the smell has gone. About to insert another tube .... Also apparently you use it for 1 week only, then after that, you can use 1/2 a week which is optional. Ill defo be doing one a week!
