    Eczema on vagina

    Hi all,

I am 17yrs old & I have eczema in and around my vagina.
This makes it very painful to masturbate and have sex because the skin does not stretch.
I came here looking for advice. My doctor has given me aqueous cream to help with this but so far nothing has given me relief. I flare up quite badly some times and i become swollen and it itches a lot. But my main problem is the fact that I find it difficult to have sex.
Is there anyone else out there who has similar problems who can offer advice or someone who has overcome this problem?

    Thanks in advance,

    Moosyehouse.

      Hey mooseyhouse,

I think I have the same thing going on as you do. It's mainly around my vaginal 'hole' (excuse the term); the skin is very very dry and like yours, will not stretch.

I've been quite wooried about putting anything on it as I don't want to upset the pH balance. I have a tub of aqueous cream that I used as normal moisteriser but it just made it worse. Since then I've tried a few regular body moisterisers that tend to irritate the whole area down there. Now I just use Savlon. I use it when I feel dry and after shaving.

I imagine this is a problem a lot of women have had and later conqured.

Go back to your doctor and tell her that the cream you were given just isn't helping. There are loads of creams/ointments out there for eczema - I use a steroid cream for the eczema on my hands.

      Good luck!
