It's the gardasil... A shot that is suppose to prevent hpv in some cases may have caused them. If you had hpv before the shot they will blame it on that. If you had never had sex before and got hpv well you might have a case. The FDA and CDC are turning a blind eye on the adverse reactions of gardasil.
    sorry about your problem.

I have a question, I know it might sound stupid, but I took all the shots for Gardasil and my paps always came back normal before the vaccine but after the shot the pap came back abnormal. I have a coloscopy in a couple of days. could it be possible that after the shots, this might've of made the pap to made it positive or abnormal. Please if someone knows would you let me know. Thank you

        I never had Gardisil shots.
I was diagnose with the strain of HPV that caues cancer about 3 years ago.
Prior to this the guy I was with for over 8 years had veneral warts after we were going out for a year. They just appeared out of no where and I never to this day had warts. He had them froze off and back then I was told I'd be ok. When I asked the doctor why I never got the wart she told me that he must have cheated on me and gave me a different strain. I was freaked out! I had to get the colposcopy /biopsy and was doubled over with terrible craps. I could barely walk. After that I had to get pap tests every three months for 2 years. Just last year everything came back normal and they even told my the HPV test came back negative.
I hope I never have to experience that again. When I was diagnosed the doctors were just finding out about the virus.

By the way from what I've read there is NO test for men to see if they are carrying the HPV virus.
That is just wrong. They should have to go through something similar to what us women have to.

            My experience with Gardisil

I had cervical cancer cells removed 2 years ago and tested negative for hpv so my doc recommended the shot. I was leary but I got the first shot and I started having gyno issues, constant feeling of a uti and sex is now painful and my periods are more frequent (twice a month now)...I did not receive any other shots and my doc is still trying to find the cause of the current issues...I did a ton of research on this shot and I would never recommend it for anyone. I am actually going for an internal ultrasound this afternoon to test for cysts, ovarian cancer etc...so I will update you guys if you want to know but this past year has been for me as a female and I want to know what is causing these issues...the only thing that seems to have a link is the shot but that could be coincidental.

I am 18 years old and have already had abnormal paps for a year. My mom was leery about me getting the Gardasil shot but finally caved after all the pressure from doctors. Since I have gotten the shots I have contracted HPV. I always have practiced safe sex and have been with my current partner for a year; he now has HPV as well. I just had my first coposcopy/biopsy on Tuesday and have mild dysplasia, which was great news. Unfortunatley, I would rather just not have HPV at all. I was under the impression that maybe I had gotten this from him; I then realized that I contracted HPV DURING the process of recieving the shots, and I now believe I may have gotten it this way. I know there is no way of knowing if my boyfriend had HPV and it was undetected, or if the shots caused the outbreak, and obviously there is nothing I can do other than take care of myself, but through this experience I have decided not to get my future children signed up for this shot. I am happy, and sad, to know that others have had this experience and that I am not alone. This has been a very terrifying experience for me.

Normal pap, gardasil, normal pap, ABNORMAL!!!!

I'm 23, I had all normal paps, at the age of 20 I decided to get the Gardasil shots. I was the first person my doctors office gave the shot to, I received all THREE shots. My pap was normal for either 1 or 2 times after finishing the shot, but this past Oct (2008) my pap was abnormal. They did a colposcopy, found nothing, next pap was abnormal again but they decided to give it another 6 months, well it is abnormal again as of Sept (2009) and in a few weeks I'll be having my SECOND colposcopy. I don't understand how I had normal paps before, got the shots, was normal for a while after, and now all of a sudden it pops up. My partner and I were only with each other, so I wasn't exposed to anyone else. What is also very interesting is that two of my friends are going through the SAME THING! Normal paps, gardasil, normal paps, and then a year or two later stuff is abnormal! I really think the shot did this.....

                    also positive HPV after Gardasil!!

Im surprised to hear that more women are having abnormal paps after Gardasil. I am 26 and have been having normal yearly paps for 10 years. I also have had the same partner for over 4 years, and last year my GYN encouraged me to get the vaccine since my insurance covers it, so I did, and the next years pap came back with abnormal cell changes. She says I could have had HPV for years and it never showed itself. I have had 1 colposcopy and 1 repeat pap. The biopsies showed minor changes and the next pap was normal. I cant help thinking that it has something to do with the vaccine!!! Hopefully there will be more research and we will find out!

                      Positive HPV after gardisil shots

I just found out today that I have an abnormal pap smear and I tested positive for HPV.. How is this possible????.. I've had normal pap smears since I was 17, and I am 25 now. Also, I've tested negative for HPV for years and I have not changed my partner. Last year, after my last pap smear, which came back neg for HPV and it was normal, I decided to get the Gardisil shots. Now, my recent pap smear this year is abnormal amd possible. Something is wrong. I also have the strains that cause cervical cancer.. This makes no sense to me.. I have to do my coloscopy in two weeks. I am very upset.
