Some of the readings about HPV states that it could take a few years before it even comes out. It is suppose to clear itself up within 2 years if you're healthy for low risk people...but how do they really know it's 2 years? I have a feeling they don't really know much about HPV and honestly, I never even heard of it until my doc randomly decided to test me. Plus, since there is no way of testing men, it can just pass right on through to women without any signs besides the warts.

I don't think it does clear up in 2 years, the reason I say this is because about 20 years ago I was seeing a guy who cheated on me and managed to catch genital warts and of course pass them onto me. I developed some warts a few months after I'd found out and dumped him and had 12 weeks of weekly sessions having them painted with some stuff to burn them off which worked. I was told at the time yearly smears for the next ten years and if the warts hadn't come back by that time they wouldn't do. However fast forward to my next partner who I met 6 years after I contracted HPV and within a few months of sleeping with me he had a wart that needed to be removed. I was mortified as I thought if I'd had years with no visible warts I wouldn't pass this on and of course it was 6 years after I contracted it that I did pass it on so I think the 2 years they are suggesting it lasts is utter rubbish. By the way I had abnormal paps on and off both before and after getting HPV.

        abnormal paps after gardasil

I am 23 and had always had normal pap smears. The day I went to receive my 3rd series of Gardasil and my annual pap, the results came back abnormal, saying I had dysplasia. I had a colposcpy and a biopsy done. My doctor also froze some of the abnormal cells. I continued to have abnormal pap smears to this day. I just found out that I tested positive for HPV after the shot and my doctor did not inform me of this ! I am so frustrated as I have had to continue to go every four months to monitor these abnormal pap smears. When are they going to end? I regret getting Gardasil as I feel I should have waited since the vaccine was new and there was limited research on the effects after the shot.

I feel the same about Gardasil. I believe that this shot has caused the abnormal pap smears I have had the past 2 years. You must wonder about some doctors getting paid by pharmaceutical companies to distribute this product. What is scary is the limited research about the effects after the shot. I wish I had waited to get his shot. Even though the shot does not contain "active" components I believe that it can cause the effects you may be having as well as the numerous abnormal paps and positive HPV tests.

I am very stressed and upset about the fact that I have to have another colp. & biopsy, it was traumatic and extremely stressful. You have no idea of the things running through my mind. Is there anyone out there who has had a experience like mine?? If so, please tell me what happened.
I will also welcome any input from medical professionals. Thank you.
I'm only 24 and I just got the call today that I was positive for HPV... I finished up the shots last year and had never been positive before... I'm both scared and annoyed, because I'm not sure what this will turn into and what it will mean for my future... I'm also annoyed because I did go through the shots, but luckily my insurance paid for them. I am going for my colposcopy next month and I have no idea what I'm in for... Glad I'm not alone here, but sad that it's happening to others too...

Hello everyone, I am 32 and I had my gardasil shots because my gyno said that since I had my first sex at age 24 and didnt change many partners, then Im a good candidate. I always normal pap results and never had infections. My gynos always say that I am completely clean and normal. Right after my first shot, I started to develop REALLY WEIRD sensation around my vaginal lips. Like itching and burning. The pain was hard to describe, almost like a there were needles inside my skin (the interior lips). My doc said maybe I got some urinary infection etc. since meanwhile I also had the feeling as if I would like to pee most of the time. I started to take immunex and it went away. After a while, maybe after the second shot, I am not sure, I started to feel itching and burning sensation. This time there was no needles under the skin. However, the itching part was the same place where I had the painful needles sensation before. When I touched there, I felt small bumps, not like herpes but maybe small warts?? im not sure, cant really see them, but can feel them. Now the itching is gone but the bumps are there, not visible but can feel them. I always blamed the gardasil for this and now Im almost %100 sure. I will go have my pap test and if it comes out abnormal, I strongly reccomend all of us to go after this. We are not lab rats. God knows what other side effects might develop in the coming years. We are only a bunch of careful observers who can associate these with gardasil. Im sure there are many others who are not aware of it. It might be this, gardasil might trigger the HPV if you already have it and maybe they are hiding this from us. I hope this is not the case.

                ABNORMAL PAP AFTER GARDISAL SHOT

I have had normal paps since I was 17. I am now 26 and just finished getting my 3rd Gardisal Shot 3 months ago. I went for my yearly pap smear and the doctor called me and told me I have an abnormal pap. I have been with the same person for 8 years, I am going to get the coloscopy in a week if I have HPV or something wrong with me it is from the Gardisal Shot!! I notice this is happening to many people, and we need to do something about this!

Gardasil contains several toxic chemicals and some have live strains.

The product is believed to have only been studied for 3 - 4 years and it has been reported that it has caused infidelity, and in one article, links to 18 deaths..

Like alot of products that haven't been researched enough, people will blame it on the product as to the reason, not a natural cause or another reason..

Having said that, as no law suit seems to have occured and proof has been made of those deaths, or infidelity it's difficult to know.

HPV - we are all pretty much carriers for, men and woman and yes it can stay dormant for years.. and in most cases never show itself.. But, is it possible for the live strains to activate the HPV? Possible.

The New York Post reported a Fed's warning - with the links to 18 deaths in 2008.

I can't provide a link to you, (against the rules) of the Forum, but google National Vaccine Information Centre, in America, or nvic and find gardasil...

even tho i am 32 I had only one partner in life. I was seeing him for over an year. I have few times situation that i felt he was cheating but he never conformed it (however he had more then 5 officially gal friend before me that he told me). However right after i broke up with him, one day during period i had extreme pain that i had to call ambulance and end up in ER. I was recommended for all kind of testing and one of them was HPV. Unfortunately i came positive. I tried to contact my partner and not to mention my partner was doctor by him self but he did not support and rather become angry and told me i got it from other people truth is I never had other person even tho i am 32 My bad luck that i dated a guy who was jerk to tell me like that. I was very emotional about this and i went threw anything and everything i could for this including GEN PEP (DNA test to detect type of HPV) I did not had most popular types of that is available for testing by DNA thus my doctor recommended me to get Gardasile, as it works on (16,18,6,11). After getting vacine i have started getting itching and other issues. However i never thought that was Gardasile but when i took second shot i had same issues and now i do thing it could be because Gardasile. Even though i do not have most popular one but i do not know what strain i have cuz i keep coming positive for it. I always have high stress level due to work and other issues as well as whole episode of this cause me some what depression, humiliation, same and hurt specially when guy just decided to teat me bad (being a doctor) . I know that HPV increases by stress. I am extensively worried about this i am scared too. i do not know what expect. Not too mention that my partner spent his most of the life in Mexico for med school and in Peru growing up. Should i look for HPV problem in this countries and check what is popping up there?

i am also worried that what if i always going to be positive? I come from very close culture society I am not comfortable to tell anyone about my this problem and i do not think anyone will accept me in my culture if they know I have HPV. I always had dream to get marry and have kids ....How do i tell someone that i have HPV and still find to date and get marry ? or go for one of the arrainge one without telling would be big fat lie..........this all the thoughts makes me angree on my ex ....i feel he just used me and when i discover he just dumped me in thresh .....I know nothing i can do then cry ..........i feel ............taped.............
