Hi

I am 23 years old and recently finished my period on the 7th March. For the last week I have been experiencing abdominal cramping very much like appendix pain, nausea, increased hunger and very bad mood swings (my fiancé is keeping his distance).

I have regular sex with my fiancé, I have never been on birth control expect for using condoms and we are always very careful.

I am at a loss as to why I have come on this early as I am usually very regular, I have never missed a period or had multiple periods in a month nor have I had any particular stressful encounters.

Please let me know your thoughts!

If you're not using hormonal B/C, see your GYN, it could ovarian cysts, which they won't do much about unless they burst and are bleeding, BUT it may be that a hormonal B/C could reduce or eliminate them as it did with me. I was on Depo Provera for years and loved it because it got rid of the cysts which were causing pain during sex, it also eliminated my period and PMS symptoms.

Trix thanks for the reply, I hadn't considered ovarian cysts but I think I should perhaps discuss with my dr. I was a little bit panicked in case I was pregnant and what I am experiencing is spotting. I have however taken a test and this is negative. I did request a smeer test last week as my sister had some abnormalities with hers and I wanted to get checked to be on the safe side, however, UK ruling is that unless you are over 25 you are not eligible to have one.
