It shouldn't be a trust issue at all. You are an adult and your sex life is private business. You're in no way breaking any sort of trust what so ever.

If you are being safe I don't see the need to discuss it with anyone other than the person you are sleeping with.

As wildchild pointed out you may want to think about why you feel you need to tell them.

Just picture it in your head "Mum, dad, I'm sexually active" - what would they say? I mean, if I had a daughter and told me that... ... guess I'd say "... and?" or maybe ask if she's taking care of herself and give her some tips. But hey, u know ur parents! if the reaction would be ok, then just come clean, straightly.
She's an adult living in their home though, so that changes it a bit.

Oh ye? Well, I'd prefer if everything is "understood" without saying it. It's not something I! would talk to my parents about, but hey, if u can, go ahead =P

I get where your coming from 'HeyItsMe'
Every now and then I just wish they knew but at the same time ive never tried harder to keep a secret!
There've been days where ive been seconds away from blurting it out to my mum but just could never get round to it.
My friend had a sex chat with her mum...and her mum just said she hoped she'd tell her if she's had sex. Because I'm not as close with my mum we've never discussed anything like that...I think the urge to tell her is in case she wanted to know but couldn't ask.
I doubt i'd bring it up, but If she asked me i'd tell her the truth

Well, no one in here know your parents more than you do. It's all about an uncomfortable situation, isn't it? =P My parents never asked. But I know they know. My girl's mum ask her every few months =P and she keeps saying no cuz... well, my mother in law is just way too religious, hehe, and would expect her to be married, dunno.

What you say sounds to fit best. Don't lie, if they ask, you'll be pleased to answer them. Otherwise, pretend "they know " - as I'm guessing they do already.

            Good luck! =)

i wouldnt tell them its none of their business, they probably do know, but would prefer no to confront it. my mother is one of the few people i can lie successfully too, probably because of all the experience i had as a teenager, i dont know if this is bad or normal - but it is a fact!!

Sex is a normal healthy thing. Unfortunately people have turned it into some thing a bit twisted. No need to lie about it but why is it anyone else's business?

I agree! Someone in this thread used the term 'come clean' with her parents. Come clean!? She isn't doing anything wrong AND it's none of their business.

I think maybe you're just a bit frustrated that you haven't had that convo with them yet. It's like when you want to know what a present is or the outcome of a job interview, there's so much in life that just needs to be left to sort itself out but we want to hurry things along and start thinking about things too much. You don't need to ask yourself questions about whether you should tell your parents / and how, or wonder if they know and what they are thinking. Just be patient and it'll become clear at some point, just enjoy your sex life! xx
