    The Heroine's Journey

Time to do some updating on here. This may not strike most as a book on sex but it is about women and how we view ourselves and ultimately that has a lot to do with our sexuality. This is a marvelous book written by therapist Maureen Murdock. She writes about her own healing journey and what she learned from it and working with other women in their journeys. The Heroine's Journey is well worth reading, it delves into myth, western cultural archtypes and the dangers to women (and the world) of getting too deeply emeshed in the world of male thinking and becoming male identified.

From the story of Iphegenia, decieved and sacrificed to facititate a war, to 'father' religions to reconnecting with the true power of the feminine, Maureen takes us on journey of what has happened to women the past 5000 years and what needs to happen to move foreward not only in healing as individuals but all of lifekind.

Being balanced and whole, fully connected and aware of who we are and knowing our true power is ultimately the sexiest thing we can do.

Finally really got into One Hour Orgasm. Interesting book. It's not about intercourse but about using your hands both on yourself or a partner. It gives methods to sensitize yourself and to create cross connecting arousal, so that you could have an orgasm from various areas of your body.
The authors believe that women are the source of male arousal and that with the exception of rare cases ED is a result of the woman not be turned on and in turn, turning on the man. They state that with re-education most ED can be overcome entirely without drugs. They also explain techniques to make a man harder and longer.
The technique explained in this book is called the Venus Butterfly and can bring you (female or male) to an orgasmic state where you experience full body orgasmic contractions and can continue to do so for as long as you want.

The book does explain that there is always something to learn and there are sexersizes that must be done to train yourself to achieve this level of pleasure. This isn't something you can just follow the instuctions once and be there. It takes time and effort. But wouldn't being in an orgasmic state for an hour be worth it?

Hey, WC! You effectively made me want to buy both The Heroine's Journey and One Hour Orgasm. I think they are very interesting. The publishers should pay you for advertising. lol!

            Kiss My Tiara

Kiss My Tiara How To Rule the World as a Smart Mouth Goddess, isn't exactly about sex, but it is. In the sense that our feelings or selfworth and attitudes affect our sexuality so deeply. This book is a riot! I laughed and laughed and thought. She hits home on so many things. Starting with the intro: Forget Rules For Catching a Husband. How 'bout Rules for Catching a Life?, to, We Don't Shape History by Shaping Our Thighs, to, Every Idiot We Date is One Less Idiot We Risk Marrying, to, Never Mind a Penis, We'll Take a Bigger Paycheck; she hits where women today live and the battles we face with ourselves and society!

I loved it, I'll read it again and I'll buy copies for several woman I know. It's not a big thick book, it's an easy read and will put a smile on your face and bring some sassiness into your life.

I don't know if we can add to the list but I also recommend a book on sex. Its called The Science of Orgasm. It explains orgasms from the physical, cognitive, and behavioral neuroscience view. The material however is very comprehensive and the language may be a bit much for the average person to grasp but for those who have a good background in anatomy, physiology and neuroscience this is probably a good way to go.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.

Of course you are welcome to add to the list!
Just took a look inside on Amazon. It does look like an interesting book. I might very well get it and read but would venture a guess that some people would find it intimidating. I'm facinated with sex, orgasm and how people interact sexually. My personal theory is that if more people had better sex, the world would be a happier place. If I can help them find some info to get there, I'm all for it.

Ordered two more books; I Love Female Orgasm: An Extraordinary Orgasm Guide, and The Art of Sexual Ecstasy: The Path of Sacred Sexuality for Western Lovers. The first one just sounded interesting. The second was recommended by a Tantrist conducting a seminar at the Sex Show I went to at the Convention Center this weekend. They did a demonstration of Opening Sensory Awareness that was really nice and came from this book. I'm looking forward to reading both!

Their definition of orgasm is different from mine and probably yours too; any time the gentials feel better than the rest of the body.
