Hmm... I don't want to discourage the original poster, my case is very severe and doesn't mean that everyone in somewhat similar situation should give up. I think that if there is still love and commitment inside - try everything to resolve the issues and keep the marriage happy.

Thank you all for the tips.

As far as my relationship goes, my husband is also bipolar and doesn't stay on medication regularly and because of this, he can be really moody and when someone is trying to have a real heart to heart with him, he considers it confrontational and walks away. And you are right, pure laziness is the reason he refuses to shower regularly. He works in a Deli and seems to always be tired. I even suggested vitamins to him but he doesn't take them.

BPs can be tough to deal with, I've been there. If he isn't flying into unprovoked rages and later claiming he doesn't remember it you are fortunate. Do be careful. I understand that the meds can mess them up in other ways including sexually.

Mrs A for your own sake, why not talk with a counselor? You may have to shop around for a good one but at the least they provide you some tools to cope and keep your self esteem up.

No WildChild he isn't flying into unprovoked rages.....if he is they are not happening around me. After all that has happened with his BP, he knows that I will literally take a bat to his head and not think twice about it. Your right about the meds effecting his sex drive and I have even asked him if he is having problems with that and he tells me no and I know he isn't because he didn't have a problem the last time I went down on him. However he hasn't been on his BP meds so besides trying to drag out what is the problem, I'm totally lost.
