happy to find life is still good

Hi Ladies i just read all the other posts and have to say thanks to everyone for being so frank. Someone I met on the internet recently told me he thought women reached sexual peak at 40 so technically I'm on the downswing (at 49 yrs). However Im finding that is not true altogether. I was defnitely into sex, sex and more sex in my 20s and 30's; thought it was all behind me in my early to mid 40's but lately have blown this right out of the water. About a week ago I confessed to my husband that i wasn't happy in our marriage due to not reaching the big O with him at ANY time and then found out he has an equally high sex drive but thought I wasn't interested in him?! Since then we have been having lots and lots of uninhibited sex and i've dropped weight and have taken to wearing sexy lingerie and clothes that show off my curves. Its amazing! Just when I thought life was settling down its gotten so interesting again. I think Im re-peaking (if thats possible). So 40+ladies, there is definitely hope out there! And thanks for the tips about porn - I think I need some soon.

I am 35 and so very thankful I found this. Thank you. I am convinced I am going to go bonkers with my newly found sex drive. Everything seems to turn me on, but it's nice to know I am not alone. My boyfriend and I have joked about the door knobs not being safe while he is at work. LOL.

I am 49 and am enjoying sex more than I ever have in my life--and I wonder, too, how do we know we are at our peak when we don't know what is around the corner?

It's wonderful to finally be free of inhibitions and experience love making to its fullest--and to crave sex as much as my partner does, if not more~~this is all very different for me, but I love it!

            help

hello. sorry if i am intruding, but i found this forum as i was concerned with my wife and was looking for answers. my wife is 35 and we have three boys, a 4 year old and 6 month old twins. her sex drive seems as though it has decreased drastically over the past few years (even before the twins) and i always thought that she whould be reaching her sexual peak (if there is actually such a thing) instead of declining. when we are intimate it is very satisfying for both of us. she always says we should do it more often, but then she never initiates it. i have to be the one to iinitiate it and then i feel like i'm bothering her too much or pestering her. she usually says she is tired and that's the only reason. i don't know if i should be worried or not. unfortunately i think i may have an overactive sex drive as i'm 38 now and seems like i need it more then ever. again i apologize for posting this on your forum but maybe someone could give me some advice or at least their opinion.
            thank you for your time.

My guess is that she is EXHAUSTED. How much time does she have for herself in any given day? I went through 10 years of a crp sex drive. It's not fun.

Do you ever take the kids and give her alone time? A babysitter or grandparents to give the two of you alone time together? Not to knock any man, but I think some men take more for granted than they think they do once a wife and kids come along. Not at all saying this is your problem, but food for thought, right.

How busy is she during the day, is there anything that you can do to help? The more help she gets, chances are the less exhausted she will be.

thank you for your reply. you are probably right. i actually probably spend more time with the boys then she does, but she works longer hours and sometimes her job wears her out. plus all the housework that needs to be done in the evening, which we obviously both share. but i'm guessing by the time she gets to relax she's probably pretty beat by then.
again thank you for your time.

Well, at least you are sharing in the housework and with raising the boys. That's a start. Keep the lines of communication open, find out from her what she feels is exhausting. Also, it's positive that she WANTS to have more sex, just doesn't have the energy to initiate it.

Do little things for her, that make her feel desired. Little notes here and there, just small stuff like that.

Communicate communicate communicate, that's probably your best bet at this point, like I said, the desire is there from her (or so it seems), now it is just working out how to get past that to the point of acting on it between the two of you. Plus, as the boys get older and become more self sufficient, you may be amazed at how that effects her too. The energy starts to come back because you are not having to be focused on their wants and needs 24/7.

Wow. Reading all your posts makes me feel so much relief. I am 36 and I have always had a high sex drive but the last year has been very rough---to make matters worse I am single. I find myself thinking about sex a lot, I masturbate at least every other day and I have been watching porn which I never wanted to do before. My sex drive is through the roof and I have considered doing some random hook ups which I know is not safe---it is making me crazy---I just want sex all the time. I exercise 6 days a week and I work out hard---so that does help temporarily but I am in desperate need of some serious quality time w/ a hot guy. Thanks for the input ladies---I am breathing a sigh of relief knowing I am not alone with this.
