Sex while on period
I have always wondered why it is so wrong? I mean, guys like watching violent sports (hockey, wrestling, boxing) that often involve blood, but it seems that most men are turned off by the idea of having sex during a woman's menstruation. I mean, my bf doesn't mind it at all, but most of my guy friends don't even like to think about it. -
My boyfriend doesn't mind it either but I do. I am not 100% comfortable with it. We've only done it once (he was my first time) and afterwards we went and cleaned up but I was a little weirded out by it. That may be because of my religious background though too. I was taught that it was wrong and we weren't to do it. Heck, that goes for premarital sex too. *shrugs*
Guys are weirded out by women's periods in general. They don't want to talk about it, hear about it, nothing. I had someone tell me, "I'm afraid of anyone who can bleed for a week and not die." It's like we're superhuman or something. Really, I just think it's a preference. I'm not sure that I would want to have sex with my boyfriend if he were bleeding out of his penis, you know? -
Depends on the guy. Some don't mind, some don't even want to think about the subject.
I don't understand what the big deal is. Periods aren't gross at all. You just have to be a bit more careful because blood is more difficult to clean up, but that's about it. In a way I even find it romantic, because menstruation is a sign of womanhood, but that's just me.Comment

People are usually a bit paranoid of getting fresh blood from other sources on them. By the time things come out of down there it isn't always that fresh and it contains tissue as well as blood.
Sex while on your period can be exceedingly messy. Sex causes contractions in your uterus so for some picking the wrong time could push days worth of blood out at once. My bed looked like someone got murdered on it. A towel would not have protected the sheets. We've had sex when there was a tiny bit of blood but I'm not interested in repeating that event again.Comment

I think for some guys it's more than just the "eww gross" factor, but the idea that they may be causing the blood, and for a typical relationship that's not something to be proud of.
It would depend on my SO's comfort level and how bad she bleeds. If she was loosing a pint during sex then obviously it's not something I'd want to continue doing, otherwise a condom and a large dark towel and it wouldn't be an issue with me.Comment

If I understand correctly, the cramping comes from the body trying to push out the old uterine lining. So an orgasm.. whether through intercourse, oral sex, or even masturbation.. can help relieve the cramping because the muscle contractions from the orgasm move the 'material' out of the uterus and through the vagina faster. That's why there might be more blood during sex. But the subsequent bleeding and cramping should be less. And of course the endorphins released during sex can help with the pain.
Again, if I understand that correctly..
