My wife and I are reading Hot Monogamy (slowly, but we're getting through it).
The chapter she just finished is Sexual Technique. She learned some things that she never knew, like clitoral stimulation (masturbation). She's never even considered doing this to herself. I told her that it's never too late to learn.
If a woman doesn't know how to please herself, how will she know how to communicate what she likes?
Or, from another angle: if a woman isn't being sexually stimulated to orgasm (like my wife, orgasm is very rare, and only caused by nipple stimulation), how else will she learn what it takes to reach orgasm?

Most of the women I talk to are completely shocked when I mention female masturbation or clitoral stimulation.
Men experience sexual arousal (erections) naturally during adolescence and so they also naturally discover masturbation (because an erect penis is difficult to ignore!). Teenage girls get breasts and periods but their genitals do not grow significantly or become more sensitive to stimulation in the way that men's do.
A person only discovers maturbation (genital stimulation) once they experience sexual arousal. Men are easily stimulated by seeing a person they find attractive (or porn magazines). Women's arousal is much more subdued.
A woman needs to be willing to explore her sexual fantasies through reading erotica in order to experience the kind of sexual arousal that leads to orgasm. Many women are disgusted by any form of eroticism and so they never discover how their sexual arousal works.
Men are much much more sexual than women. A woman is lucky if she discovers orgasm by any means and masturbation alone is unfortunately the easiest way for a woman to orgasm. This is because women use sexual fantasies for sexual arousal and these are much more difficult to use during sex with a partner.Comment

Nosper-Men are much more sexual than women?!? I find this statement to be false. A woman can be JUST as sexual as a man if not more! I had to chime in here
It is just more visually apparent for a man to be aroused vs a woman. We can certainly be just as sexual!
Self discovery can help us to become even more sexual! Some people just choose not to masturbate. I do agree with what you stated that women DO use sexual fantasy while masturbating so it "may" be easier for her to orgasm alone(see I didnt totally bash your statement
However in this case, it seems like the wife is being totally satisfied by her husband and does not ever feel the need to masturbate
Unfortunatley some men do not know how to make their woman orgasm. & some women can not even have an orgasm
Or do not know how to masturbate properly to achieve an orgasm. I think the original poster of this threads wife maybe does not know how to masturbate and this is why she has "never done this"
Maybe she is too shy to let her husband know she has masturbated before
My husband would NEVER admit to me that he masturbates, he says he does not which I think is a big lie

Hehehehehehe HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Maybe you need to talk with more women.
I was experiencing intense arousal and orgasm long before I discovered self pleasuring and have had some of my most intense orgasms with an essentially cleared mind. Sex with a partner is almost always a quicker and more intense orgasm and has no fantasing about it.
I am by no means unique.
I don't think I've found a man who wants it as much as I do since I was in my early 20s.Comment

We've gone a bit overboard on the sexual harrassment thinking. I bring it up if I think it will be well received. I'm always interested in other's experiences and opinions and it isn't purient interest, it's seeking understanding. I have several women friends who have told me straight out not to ever mention sex to them - so it isn't just talking to men that some don't want to hear it. But then I've encountered quite a few men who have a problem with it too.
Funny how it's OK the talk and joke about hos and such but not to have a serious discussion about one of the most powerful human drives.Comment
