They vary, sometimes a story, the plot, is born from a personal experience so the character I play tends to be a little closer to me. Other times I saw an awesome movie and wanted to do a play off of that and depending on how outlandish the movie is it can be polar opposite to my personality or just a little ways off.
I try to make sure all of my characters are independent to themselves, of course my best characters that I play the most accurately tend to be more like me, they tend to share my morals and theories and so forth. But I have played some characters that are completely and utterly unlike me and no matter how hard I try they still feel a little flat/two dimensional.
I have played so many characters, I could no list them, I couldn't even say which was my favorite, each story and setting calls forth a different character to be played. I imagine a lot of my characters share a lot of similarities, tends to happen when they're all played by one person. XD I think my greatest achievement is in one story I am playing four characters, two males and two females, and trying to make sure they all have different personalities and attitudes and yet still fit in with there position in the story. When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.
