What's your argument for "normal"... Just because a ton of people do something, does that make it normal? Or right?

I don't like thinking too much about this subject but I feel like people who are "for" porn don't have a good argument.

I guess I was venting about everything. I know, sorry I'm being annoying about this issue but it's just helping me get it out of my system I guess.

I stay at his house some nights when he gets out of work, so of course I should come to conclusion he just wants to get a good nights sleep before waking up to do it all over again. But, I dk if this is answering your question but the time that i've found the porn, he didn't work that day, but was the next morning? I was not with him that night. But it's not like he stays at home and is consumed by it.. it's just every now and then..
Wait, when you say you found porn, what exactly do you mean by that? You actually found the page/video on his computer? You found it in the history? Or you found it in the drop down address bar? Just because you see a website in the address bar that doesn't mean that page was accessed that same day you see it. A page might not be accessed for weeks but it could still be in the address bar. The address bar just keeps the most visited web pages there for easy access.

Let's say someone visits site a for 3 months straight. That website will go in the address bar for easy access.

But they stop visiting site a and visit sites B, C, and D for three weeks straight. After that three weeks websites A, B, C, and D will all be in the address bar. Because even though he hasn't visited it for weeks, 3 websites are not enough to kick it off, because the address bar logs 20 websites. You would have to stop visiting site A and then start visiting 20 more websites on a frequent basis to kick site A out of the address bar.

YES. That's exactly what makes it normal. Normal to me is not a deviation from the standard path set by a community. So the OP's boyfriend watching porn is normal because a high majority of people within his same circumstances do the same thing.

Normal and right are two different things. But while we're one the subject, I think it's right. I don't think it's wrong. But there's no standard way to measure that. It's not as easy of a question as "is it normal?"

In that case I think "common" and "normal" are different. Common is what you just described, a majority of people doing something. But the word normal carries with it an additional implication, that it's right.

              No, all guys don't.
              Look at porn, that is.
If somebody emails me a picture of a naked woman, yes, I'll look at that picture, but pictures or videos of sex acts?
They just gross me out, mostly.

And I don't think I'm the only guy who feels that way.
Who would want to look at porn if he had a real live woman waiting for him in bed???
That's not what you'd call completely normal...

Well, maybe that's true. But in this case, I think it's both common and normal. At the very least, I don't think watching porn represents some time of deviant behavior. I really didn't even want to post here again, because I'm grossly outnumbered and I'll never win over the crowd.

But the OP asked me a question, so I answered it to the best of my knowledge. And I'm not saying that all guys watch porn. That's far from what I meant to imply at all. But I'm saying that a lot do. I'm saying that I think the better majority do. You don't have to take my word for it. Just look at the evidence around you. The beer commercials, the football games, the 10 billion dollars a year. This is all based on my experiences.

                Your mileage may vary.

                  To the OP:

One last thing you have to remember: This forum will either be great for you or horrible for you depending on what you want to hear.

Even most of the guys who post here aren't going to be like me. On this board you're only being presented with one side of the issue. I don't think it's unfair for me to generalize and say that the side of the issue you're being shown is the anti-porn side.

It's like if you went onto a highly conservative forum and asked if Obama was a good president. That forum would do everything they could to convince you he wasn't. If you went onto a highly liberal forum and asked the same question it would be the difference between night and day. There's no one right answer. At the end of the day it's going to be about how you yourself feel about the issue.

I don't think porn is wrong. But I can't speak for you.

I definitely believe when you say it's that common. The issue is whether or not this is a good thing.

The beer commercials you mentioned... In a perfect world, in MY perfect world, a woman's body wouldn't be sexualized to that extent.

                    But, what can ya do.
