    Cold Hands Warm Heart

Okay, popsicle toes look like balmy Bahama beaches compared to my hands. Doc says I have great circulation, can't find anything wrong etc etc...

Yes, I know, I could be posting this some place else, but let's face it, the only time it really matters to me that my hands are sub zero Kelvin (yes, I know that is not possible, but you've never felt these hands) is when I want to use these ice chunks for my favorite activity.

I have tried soaking them in warm water, wearing gloves, hot water bottles, rubbing them together, I even tried some lubricant that advertises "heating things up."

The spirit is willing but the flesh is cold!

Any ideas I haven't tried yet?

    Thanks!

Sporting goods stores sell hand warmers, they keep my hands warm in the winter when I hunt. Try them and see if they help. I also use nothing but Arctic Shield gloves, coat and bibs to keep warm with. I usually sweat doing nothing in the coldest weather. I have been sitting for 11 hours in 10* weather, not moving and sweating my tail off.

Might be a thyroid issue- are you ever hypoglycemic or grumpy when you havent had enough to eat. Try Magnesium supplements.

Man alive I know the feeling, nearing what feels like Kelvin (I laughed when you wrote that) is awful. Doc says everything is okay with circulation but I do have hypothyroidism and I do take pills to kick my thyroid into gear everyday but I am still an ice cube. It is not my hands all the time, it is everything below my waist. Hips, legs, toes, butt everything is just an ice cube. For us there is really nothing that can be done, I use hot pockets to warm my hands up even wear mittens inside every once and awhile because my fingers are nearing frozen state. I keep the heater on in my room all the time and touching myself can just be a huge bother unless I am really warmed up from a shower, which seems to be the only way to quickly warm up.

Try Magnesium supplements. Modern western diet is very low in Magnesium- yet it is critical to many of the bodies processes. There is research on Magnesium levels and Thyroid issues going all the way back to the 1930s.

I do as part of my regular daily vitamin/mineral regime. They do not help. Only the prescription thyroid med helps, if I go off of that I am even worse. But I am not all that concerned over it, it is more of an inconvenience than anything.

At the local walgreens or cvs they sell these little 50 cent hand warmers, you just squeeze the little bag and it heats up... you could break one out when you guys are being cosy and just discreetly squeeze on it (they last a few hours) and work at warming those hands.

Wow, I am exactly the same...My hands and feet are a nightmare to touch for someone else

It doesn't bother me, I guess it is our modern day diets that cause all this fluctuation and difference in health. We have to be careful of what we are putting in our body, I really try and stay away from tap water and use a bottled source for purity....

I may try the Magnesium supplements, cheers guys.
