in february of 2011 i had a cyst on my right ovary the size of a tennis ball . . . the doctor at the ER said it should go away on it's own & after a follow - up ultrasound this past week, i am 100% cyst - free. however, i still notice some pain during sex similiar to that of the ovarian cyst but this time it's on my left side. it is not excrutiating pain, but enough to make sex uncomfortable no matter what position my boyfriend & i try.

i have been thoroughly tested for std's & my pap smear came back normal. what could be the cause of this mysterious pain if it was confirmed i have no ovarian cysts? i have been in a monogamous relationship for the past 3 years & this has put a bit of a strain on my relationship with my boyfriend.

i have been doing some research on the internet and the only somewhat reasonable explanations i could find was endometriosis & blocked fallopian tubes. reproductive disorders do not run in my family and i am in generally good health. i am worried it could possibly be something serious like endo bc i am aware that can cause infertility & i do plan on having children one day. i also have some bowel symptoms but my MD ruled it out as IBS since i have been suffering from it for nearly 8 years now.

i plan on making an appointment with my OB/GYN sometime next week but any peace of mind would be greatly appreciated

There is a good changes that all of the symptoms you are experiencing may be caused by Candiada Albicans.
Otherwise known as thrush it lives in both your intestines and vagina. It is considered to be a normal organism for both places. However if the intestinal bacterial population gets upset then the Candida growth can get out of control. It will cause IBS symptoms- gas mucous- nausea. It will also cause allergy and reproductive issues.

that was something i considered because i had some vaginal symptoms similar to thrush after getting off the pill about 3 months ago (i had the paraguard iud inserted about a month ago) but after talking to my doctor & after having some tests done, there was no sign of candiada albican. i did have bacterial vaginosis when i was 17 but was treated for it with antibiotics & my symptoms subsided. i do not have any other vaginal symtoms besides this abdominal pain & it leaves me scratching my head bc i have never felt a sensation like this before, besides when i had the ovarian cyst.

The problem can occur in men as well - It is Intestine focused and the yeast gets its food from sugars you eat.
When it is rampant the yeast cells can form Fungal bodies that will eat through your intestinal walls. Your body fights back with mucous. The yeast cell walls have Estrogen receptors and can create havoc with your reproductive system.

hm, that is interesting. how does one cure intestinal candiasis? antibiotics? are there any natural ways to get my body back to normal? i am a vegan and fill myself with organic foods & liquids. is it possible the fruits, vegetables or grains i consume have a high sugar content which would feed the candidia? i will have to look into this more in - depth. thank you, you have given me something to think about. however i think the best decision i could make is to see a doctor, just to rule out any other possible causes & give me some peace of mind.

Cut back on the fruits for a while in favour of vegetables-
Definitely not antibiotics- probioticas are what you need.

Cannot really do that as it is a normal flora organism in your body. All organisms in your body work together (it is called a symbiosis), so there needs to be some levels of C. albicans. If you were to completely remove it then your whole body would react and it simply would not be good. I am a university student studying microbiology so I can verify that you cannot remove this from your system completely. What needs to happen if there are overactive levels of C. albicans is to reduce those numbers back to original levels so that all the organisms can work together in proper levels again (this population is determined by your own body and will be different in everyone). Antibiotics can help, diet can help, probiotics can help, but nothing is an absolutely without a doubt "cure". It pretty much goes with the flow and if the environment is right for C. albicans, if that is in-fact the problem (lab tests will determine if there is an overgrowth), then it is basically going to thrive no matter what you do.

Tons and tons and tons. As a student I can tell you whatever you can think of people try to promote, they are called pseudomethods when it involves the word natural. Nothing is natural except for the real natural thing. If you want natural you need to eat that twig or leaf or dirt from the source....that is natural. The second it enters a bottle, a pill, a liquid in a bottle anything it is made in a lab and therefore not natural despite any flashy advertisements or supposed real science behind it. If you want natural then see someone who is trained to supply things of that nature, as in a certified herbal shop in the city, as eating a random plant can land you in the hospital due to lack of education and concern with the buying customer (online sites are notorious for lack of education). An absolute ton of those "cures" are bogus and merely out to get your money, so avoid anything that says things like "the only cure!!!!", "this product works!!!!!!!!", "all natural this will cure you!!!!!"...you know, blatantly obvious scams due to poor advertising. A person who is truly educated will not say anything is a cure when it comes to C. albicans, they will say it can help minimize the symptoms or levels of C. albicans. That is the type of person you should search out, not a random online method.

Yes. However you still need certain sugars, not the processed ones though. You need to see a doctor about methods, and if you ask doctors will often refer you to a nutritionist. They can help you with diet changes. Many diets for C. albicans are extreme, as in only eat x, y, and z in your day nothing else no other food groups for x amount of time. Not all diets are ridiculous and extreme but you would need to look around for the one that suits you best.

You cannot truly get rid of it- you can get it under control.
It is naturally present. Unfortunately testing for it is not usually effective because of its location. The best way to test for it is to try adjusting your food intake to avoid simple sugars and seeing how your symptoms go.

Testing is nothing, a vaginal swab. It grows like crazy in the lab as well so it is not a stubborn organism like other things. Swabs will show massive counts but normal flora are pegged in the billions anyway, it is only abnormally large counts that they look into otherwise they consider it as "nothing" because normal counts are nothing special.

I meant testing for the intestinal thrush.
You have reproductive symptoms on both Men and Women based entirely on intestinal infection.
I dont beleive it is tested for as an intestinal pathogen because it is expected to be present.
A good test is to alter your diet slightly and see if you have improvements.
